Buxi Jagabandhu Bidyadhgar College was established in 1957 and is one of the premier educational institutions of Orissa. Till 1998, It was affiliated with Utkal University. It is Accredited to NAAC - A of UGC under the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India. The college is guided by the noble mission “Learning for Leadership”.
The BJB college aims to provide a quality education through academic, cultural, and physical activities and prepare the talented youth as responsible and useful citizens for effective participation in all areas of developmental process and nation-building. B.J.B Autonomous College is one of the first institutions in the state to introduce the Semester system in 2006-2007 following the guidelines of UGC.
