Since its inception in 2008, the institute has offered a plethora of courses across Engineering, Science and Management fields. It has several programs with distinct specialisations at the undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral levels. It is known for its rigorous academic curriculum that primarily focuses on practical learning and research. 

According to past students of the institute, the initial two years of the programs are considered to be hectic as the concepts and topics may be overwhelming to students who have freshly graduated from school-level education. 

As admission to the institute is through a competitive entrance examination, it is comprised of an intellectually stimulating student body, which may seem challenging to freshers. But as time goes on, students get adjusted to the challenging academic environment and learn to navigate their education and build successful careers. However, students have mentioned that the grading system at the institute is complex, and aspirants are advised to study regularly to score high marks in their subjects.

Varying Course Fees

Although the institute offers top-tier education, its course fee structure is known for being exorbitant. However, compared to the other private universities in the country, the course fees at the institute are worth the education and the academic facilities available. The course fees vary depending on the program type, specialisation and the year of study. Additionally, the institute is known to revise its fee structure frequently.

According to the latest fee structure, the course fee for the undergraduate programs is INR 2,45,000 for the first two semesters. The course fee for the summer term is INR 85,700. In addition to the course fees, the students must pay INR 53,400 at the beginning of their course as an admission fee. 

To ensure all deserving students can acquire quality education regardless of their socioeconomic status, the institute offers numerous scholarships, fellowships and other financial assistance. The institute offers scholarships on a merit and needs basis. In order to continue receiving the scholarship, students must maintain their academic performance and overall demeanour on campus.

No Attendance Policy

Students are not required to maintain a particular attendance percentage to be eligible to continue their studies at the institute. The classes are recorded by the Impartus system, which enables students to revisit the lectures through their laptops. Though BITS Hyderabad was established in the late 2000s, most professors at the institute are from the Pilani campus and, hence, have immense experience with dealing with the course curriculum. Students have mentioned that the professors at the institute are capable of breaking down even the most complex concepts into simpler terms, which makes it easier for all the students to understand their subjects in detail.

The professors at the institute have been here since its inception and have built the courses and the academic excellence from scratch. They are regarded as the best the students can have in their respective fields. However, some of the senior professors are often busy with administrative work, which makes it difficult for the students to access them after class. 

The professors at the institute are also known for their approachability and dedication to guiding their students through their course period. Students have said that they found it lucky to have attended these professor's classes, which have not only elevated their academic experience but also created a long-lasting impression on them.

The younger professors are known to be friendly with their students and are helpful to their students when in need. They are ready to re-explain the complex concepts till each and every student understands. The professors at the institute are also known to mentor and guide students who are interested in pursuing research and nurture their innovative ideas.

The institute has various types of classrooms/lecture halls with different capacities assigned to each kind of class and course. All the lecture halls are well-designed with modern technologies, such as projectors, computer systems, greenboards, etc., to enable an interactive learning experience. The classrooms are air-conditioned, with contemporary-style seating and an elevated platform for the professors. The design of the classrooms ensures students have a direct view of the professors from all sides. 

Another attractive feature included in its academic infrastructure is the laboratories for each department. All laboratories are well-equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, instruments and devices that help students acquire top-notch practical knowledge.

The laboratories are spacious enough to accommodate large groups of students at once. Students can perform cutting-edge research with the facilities provided. As the institute was established recently, all the facilities provided are modern and well-maintained.

The central library at the institute is in a separate, modern building, which is entirely air-conditioned and has a seating capacity for more than 570 students. It houses an extensive collection of books, periodicals, magazines, theses, research papers, and other resources.

It also has a vast collection of electronic resources, such as e-books, e-journals and numerous online databases. Students can access the electronic library through the computer systems provided within the library. The library is a primary spot where students can spend hours reading and studying peacefully.

The institute has premium-level sports facilities, such as courts and fields for badminton, tennis, football, volleyball, and hockey, and extensive grounds for other athletic events. It also has ample facilities for indoor sports, such as table tennis tables, carrom boards, chess boards and billiards tables. To ensure students maintain their physical health while completing their education, the institute also has a well-equipped gymnasium. Several sports events and tournaments are conducted throughout the year, and these sports facilities are used consistently. 

The canteen at the institute serves different varieties of foods and beverages at affordable prices. It is the primary spot where students hang out with their friends. It is mainly popular among the students for being open till midnight, which ensures they have access to food late at night.

In addition to the facilities mentioned above, the institute also offers various other facilities, such as a healthcare centre, a large auditorium, a shopping complex and bank, a computer centre, a workshop, conference halls, etc.

Overall, students are delighted with the institute's world-class infrastructure, which consists of top-notch facilities. All the facilities and amenities at the institute are modern and well-maintained and enable students to have a conducive learning environment. Students have access to all the necessary facilities required for academic and extracurricular activities. 

Modern Housing Facilities

The institute provides residential facilities to all students. There are 2 hostels for girls and 6 hostels for boys. The rooms are spacious and well-furnished, with separate beds, tables, chairs and cupboards for each individual student. Students are allotted single and double-occupancy rooms. The double occupancy rooms are generally allocated to first-year students, and all the doctoral students are provided with single occupancy rooms with attached washroom facilities.

The hostel rooms and common areas are clean and well-maintained. All rooms have LAN ports for students to use their laptops more conveniently. The hostels also have basic amenities like laundry facilities, common balconies, indoor sports facilities, etc.

Students are allowed to move freely through the hostels as there are no strict rules and regulations regarding the curfew timings or guest visitors. However, the safety and security of the students are assured by 24/7 security guards and CCTV cameras placed at all corners of the campus.

The boy's and girls' hostels have separate mess facilities through which timely meals are served a day thrice. Students are satisfied with the food quality and the general hygiene of the mess and dining areas. The hostels have a student council that decides on the menu and other matters related to the hostels. In addition to the hostel mess facilities, students also have access to the canteen at the institute, which is open till 2 AM.

As per the latest fee structure, the hostel fee for on-campus students is INR 25,250 for the first two semesters and INR 12,625 for the summer term. Additional charges for mess and electricity facilities are yielded, which is INR 10,000 per semester. 

Although students are advised to stay in the hostels, they can opt to stay in P.G.s and private hostels available around the campus. Typically, the monthly rents range from INR 6000 to INR 15,000 based on the room type, occupancy and luxury provided. However, most students prefer to stay in the on-campus accommodation facilities as it is more convenient.

Energetic & Enriching Campus Life

According to the majority of the students who were part of the institute, they had a fantastic campus life filled with various academic, extracurricular and recreational activities. The academic calendar at the institute is said to be filled with numerous activities and events. 

However, students are advised to maintain a good balance between academics and extracurricular activities as it can get more challenging to maintain their grades as time goes by. Nevertheless, students are not required to maintain a studious life as they just have to be up-to-date with the lectures and their course curriculum. 

The institute has several student-led clubs, associations and societies for various cultural, literary, technical and sports activities. Students are generally selected for these clubs and departments based on their skills and talents. There are no limitations on the number of clubs students can be part of. These clubs are the best platforms for students to express their interests and showcase their talents. Students can also meet and interact with like-minded individuals from different disciplines. 

The student bodies conduct different fests and events throughout the year. The fests are well-organised and have emerged to be among the largest ones in the country. The institute also conducts several competitions and sports tournaments for the students.

Diversity on Campus

The institute has a highly diverse student population, with students from different parts of the country who speak different languages and have different cultural backgrounds. Although the gender ratio is not necessarily balanced, there is a decent number of students from different gender diversities.

Dress Code

There is no particular uniform or dress code at the institute. Students are allowed to dress according to their interests. However, they are expected to maintain a certain decorum and dress appropriately. Otherwise, the institute is liberal in terms of dress codes.

Almost 91% of the students get impressive placement offers from reputable companies and organisations around the world.
