Asian Institute of Design was formed in 2007 as a dedicated game development coaching institute. It serves as a cutting edge platform for students who are focused on Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming and Comics (AVGC) industry. Over 1000 students have passed out from this institution and are serving in leading companies around the globe. The alumni of AID work under major game development companies like Technicolor, Dreamworks, Dhruva Interactive, Sumo Digital, MPC, Rockstar Games, and many more. The college is affiliated to Bengaluru North University. It is the first institute totally dedicated to the AVGS platform and gets recruiters from around the globe. The college was initially named as Asian Institute of Game & Animation.
