"One of the best Medical institutes in the country, obtaining a degree from AIIMS Nagpur is a privilege for those who aspire to pursue successful careers in the Medical field. However, it is a relatively newer campus, and it is still a work in progress."

Having achieved several milestones in recent years, AIIMS Nagpur is among the most prestigious Medical institutes in the country. Though it was established in 2018, the institute has grown exponentially within a short period in terms of its pedagogy, faculty members and services provided. It has world-class infrastructure with top-tier human resources, and students who graduate from the institute have ample opportunities to pursue a successful career in the Medical field. 

Needless to say, getting admission at one of the AIIMS is a tedious task as it is highly competitive, and only those who score top marks in the entrance exam are allotted seats at the best institutes. The seat allocation is entirely based on the All India Quota lists, which results in a highly diverse student population. Students from all parts of the country are part of the institute, making it a vibrant and culturally enriching place for campus life. 

Though there are certain drawbacks at AIIMS Nagpure due to its newness, the government has consistently worked towards providing all the necessary facilities and resources to ensure students have the opportunity to develop the required skills to excel in the field.

Renowned Medical & Paramedical Programs

Previously known as GMC Nagpur, AIIMS Nagpur offers various Medical and related programs known for its premier academic curriculum. As the institute is also a well-known hospital, students have a wide range of opportunities to gain practical experience.

Based on the basic fee structure, the annual tuition fee for the MBBS program is between INR 8000 and INR 9000. The annual fees for postgraduate programs, MD and MS, range between INR 10,000 and INR 15,000 based on the specialisations.

Students who belong to underrepresented categories, such as SC/ST/OBC, are given special consideration in this regard.

Attendance Policy

The institute mandates students to maintain a minimum attendance of 85% to be eligible to appear for the final professional examination. Special consideration in case of absence due to medical reasons. However, students must maintain the minimum attendance requirement in all theory and practical subjects without fail.

The classrooms are equipped with modern technology to enable interactive learning, and the departmental laboratories are equipped with updated equipment and facilities. 

The central library at the institute is well-stocked with extensive collections of books, journals, research papers and other resources dedicated to every discipline. Luxurious Hostels at Nominal Fees

Except for a few private colleges, most Medical institutions provide below-average housing facilities. On the contrary, the past and present students of AIIMS Nagpur are highly impressed by the hostel facilities provided as they are almost as luxurious as those of the private colleges, and they charge extremely low monthly fees.

Almost all students are allocated single rooms, which are well-furnished with the availability of basic amenities and facilities. 

The first-year students are generally allotted double occupancy rooms, after which they are allocated single rooms from the second year onwards. The hostels have strict rules and regulations with regard to curfews and visitors. Even then, it's more lenient than many other colleges in the country. As most of the hostel blocks are newly built or renovated, the rooms are well-maintained, and the bathrooms are generally clean and hygienic. 

All rooms consist of separate beds, tables, chairs and cupboards, and the students are allowed to do minor personalisation of their rooms. However, not all rooms have attached bathrooms. The hostels have common rooms, indoor sports facilities, and sports facilities like badminton courts.

Students are also allowed to install electronic devices, such as air conditioners, mini-fridges, heaters, etc., though additional charges may be applied to install these facilities. Moreover, a 24/7 electricity supply is available free of charge.

The hostel rooms and bathrooms are regularly cleaned by the designated cleaning and housekeeping staff, overseen by wardens who are readily available to solve any student issues. Additionally, laundry facilities and parking spaces are also provided at all hostel blocks. The safety and security of students are assured by the round-the-clock security guards placed at all gates. 

Timely meals are served hygienically through the hostel mess. The mess committee is accepting of students' recommendations, and the menus are constantly updated. 

The annual hostel fees vary depending on the hostel and room types. However, the yearly fees range from INR 7000 to INR 8000 for single rooms and INR 5000 to INR 6000 for double occupancy rooms. Additional mess charges are also payable based on the meal plan opted by the students. Typically, the monthly mess fees fall between INR 1500 and INR 2000. The hostel fees are waived for those who have scholarship programs. 

Besides, students have multiple PG options located in close proximity to the institute campus. The monthly PG rents vary based on the available facilities. Basically, the PG rents stand between INR 3500 and INR 7000.

Culturally Diverse & Vibrant Campus Life

As the institute's student body consists of students from all parts of the country, it aids diversified intellectual interactions and enriching cultural exchanges. Some clubs and societies enable students to pursue their interests and hobbies to relax amidst the highly demanding academic environment. Though the institute does not have a particular uniform, it has a defined dress code. Male students must wear formal trousers and a full-sleeved shirt, while female students must wear a salwar kurta with sleeves or formal trousers and full-sleeved shirts. All students must wear black shoes with socks and half-sleeve aprons with the institute logo. Additionally, they must wear the official blazer with the institute logo for formal functions and events.

Impressive Placement Packages

Even though there are no job placement prospects for MBBS students, the institute provides internship programs as a part of the academic curriculum. Nonetheless, students who belong to the other disciplines are offered good placement opportunities.

There is no data available regarding the placement records. In any case, the brand value that the institute holds ensures good job opportunities for its graduates. Also, the MBBS students can extend their internships, which provides them a stipend as well.

According to the previous years' records, the highest salary package offered to the institute graduates was between INR 10 LPA and INR 12 LPA, with the average package ranging from INR 6 LPA to INR 7 LPA. Students mostly get placement opportunities among the AIIMS itself.
