All India Institute of Medical Science Mangalagiri was established in 2018. The institution was established under the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojna (PMSSY). AIIMS Mangalagiri campus is under construction spread area of 183 acres. The institute has commenced the academic session 2018-19 from the temporary campus of Government Siddhartha Medical College, Vijayawada (GSMC). The main campus now has 8 departments with faculty of full strength and is expecting to start the classes onthe  main campus in two years. The temporary AIIMS Mangalagiri facilities include 8 academic departments, Administrative block, two lecture halls that have been refurbished with modern amenities and state-of-the-art equipment for a fulfilling classroom experience, hostels, library, etc.

Admission to the proposed course requires minimum marks in 10+2 or equivalent with minimum marks in the qualifying examination. The minimum marks percentile for UG courses has been segregated into General Category, SC/ ST/ OBC/ MBC, and Other State candidates. • Candidates must score a minimum of 60% (50% for SC/ ST/ PWBD) aggregate in 10+2 with English, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as compulsory subjects from a recognized board or university
