Categorization Of Deemed Universities

Multiple factors are considered while categorizing any institute as a deemed university, and the important ones are listed below:

1. The university should have received the highest score from the NAAC and, in some cases, the NBA accreditation for five consecutive cycles.
2. Credit should be given for each course that is acceptable for the NBA. The university must have been ranked in the highest NAAC/NBA category or a spot among the top 100 universities in the National Ranking Framework throughout the application process.
3. The university should provide academics, instructional strategies, research facilities, and other necessities to the enrolled students at par with the national standards.
4. The institution shall grant five post-graduate and undergraduate degrees for three years.
5. The university should engage in various scholarly and research endeavors and different publications in UGC-reviewed journals. 

• The number of publications for the humanities department should be 10
• The number of publications for the engineering and medicine faculty should be 15.

Under UGC standards, the university must have adequate full-time teaching staff members for teaching and research operations.

The institution must have the necessary infrastructure for data collecting and research work.

The institution must be able to show that it has obtained money from private and public organizations for various research programs.

The institution must offer social and humanitarian services.

The organization should discontinue providing distance learning courses.
