Scholarship of INR 20 Crores to Wards of COVID-19 Frontline Work-Force by LPU

LPU is offering INR 20 Crores’ Scholarships to the Frontline Warriors and Victims of COVID-19

To honor the selfless contribution, LPU introduces the ‘COVID-19 FRONTLINE Scholarship scheme of all Covid-19 Warriors during the pandemic.

COVID-19 pandemic, in the present scenario, not only affecting the life of every human being but also continuously creating huge financial distress. To fight against this global crisis thousands of workforce comprising Doctors, Nurses, Para-Medical staff, Civic staff, Police personnel, and many more are involved vigorously. Lovely Professional University (LPU) has initiated to provide Scholarship worth Rs 20 Crores to their wards to honor this selfless service of the workforce and also the survivors or the victims; under its CSR activity. These scholarships will be offered to all the pupils in all the regular programs for the Academic Session 2020-21.

LPU has set eligibility criteria under 13 categories covering wards of dedicated workforce and affected victims for the scholarship.  Wards falling under all of these categories will get a Tuition Fee waiver of 20%.  These are for the wards of Medical Staff/ Health Workers; Medical Professionals (Pharmacists), Municipal Corporations/ Councils/ Nagar Panchayat, or any other Municipal equivalent,  Police Personnel of all States/UTs or equivalent, Survivors of COVID-19, Victims of COVID-19,  Indian Railways Employees,  Media Persons, Airline Employees, Bank Employees, Employees of Pharma Companies/Research Laboratories, and District Administration. Moreover, under government directives; LPU has also taken many other new initiatives for admission to LPU academic session 2020-21 by monitoring the present scenario and national lockdown.  Amid rapidly changing conditions, top precedence at LPU remains the safety and well-being of its community. Supporting the lockdown, prospective students seeking admissions in different LPU programs with various specializations through online/remote admissions many of the special arrangements are introduced:

The eligible candidates can take provisional admission in all programs (except MBA (Hons) and M.A (Hindi/Punjabi) by paying a nominal fee of INR 10,000. This provisional program indicates the confirmation of seats under the preferred categories. Flexible payment options have been introduced to help students during these hard times. After the allotment of the seat; Under an ideal situation, the balance payment of fee is paid within 10-15 days, can be done. however, LPU will provide reasonable time for payment of balance fee. Augmenting support to the meritorious candidates, LPU has further expanded the scholarship bracket to those candidates who score a minimum of 70% marks in the qualifying exam. Visit https://www.lpu.in/scholarship/scholarship.php to know more.

LPU has also extended its support to candidates by accepting refund applications through online mode. If any candidate applies for the refund of money on or before 31st July 2020, the amount deposited by the candidate for the program fee will be refunded after the deduction of INR 1000 only.
