S P Jain Global Survey: Management Education needs to evolve to incorporate a global outlook

On 15th April 2021, S P Jain School of Global Management (S P Jain Global), a Forbes Top 12 positioned business school, shared its 2020 Executive MBA Survey findings. The 130+ survey participant pool included current students, graduated class, senior executives and specialists, individuals from the School's Industry Advisory Boards across Dubai, Singapore, and Sydney, and senior executives and experts from worldwide companies like Amazon, Landmark, Microsoft, DHL, and UAE Exchange. Alumni and students met were essentially managers / senior managers from aviation, consultancy, entertainment and media, medical care, banking and money, oil and gas, manufacturing, services, and transportation sectors.

Top Insights From The Survey

MBA education at an executive level should train students to be intuitive and successful at overseeing crises and think/follow up on a worldwide scale. Remarking on the knowledge, abilities and capabilities future leaders are expected to have, 90% of the participants suggested the incorporation of subjects like Career adaptation, Strategic thinking, Business acumen, Value creation and Entrepreneurship in the MBA curriculum.

Findings from this survey have been utilized to plan and build up a pristine curriculum for S P Jain Global's universally-recognised Executive MBA program. The new educational plan currently incorporates subjects like Leadership and Cross-cultural Management, Corporate Governance and Ethics, and Change Management. The educational program also lends an expanded concentration on applied projects and soft (employability) skills, that has benefitted the students and their organisations.
