Orientation Programme Report for New Batch 2018 at GD Goenka University, Gurgaon

GD Goenka University, Gurgaon has an orientation program to the new batch for two days from 30 August 2018 to 31 August 2018. The main objective of this program is to provide a brief information about the University for the students to make them aware of the system, structure of the University, rules, and regulations need to be followed by the students.

A very first day of the orientation is for the Registration and Document verification process and lecturing about the course plan, timetable, credit requirements and the infrastructure facilities provided by the University and the various blocks in the campus. After that, Dean’s Welcome speech and introduction about the students to the respective Head of the Department and faculties. Each student in GD Goenka University is assigned to the mentors as they play an important role in the personality development, academically and also personally. The students need to fill the mentorship forms after an interaction with their respective mentors. On the other hand, there will be an interaction between parents and GD Goenka University Leadership team. There will be queries session, parents can ask their concerned questions regarding the University addressed to the Leadership of the University.

    

The Second day, which was on 31^st of August 2018, began with the welcome speech by Dr. Nitesh Bansal, Registrar GD Goenka University and gave a brief information about the vision and mission of the University, Schools, Ranking, Collaborations, Infrastructure facilities by the University. During this session, the Hon’ble President Prof. (Dr.) Suku Bhaskaran briefed about the achievements of the University to the students and guided about their future and motivated them to achieve their goals. He also encouraged students to build or develop a support system and imbibe the right kind of knowledge, skill sets, attitude, and ethics. He congratulated students for choosing a right College and the expectations need to be reached by each student in terms of academics. The University gave the prospectors to the students which have the detailed information about the University and the activities, guidelines, rules, and regulations.

Mr. D. S. Parihar, Controller of Examination gave an explanation about the examination system to the students and Mr. Manoj Sahani, Director, CRC provided an overview of placement and internship assistance offered by the University. Prof. (Dr.) Anil Dawra, Proctor mentioned them with about the Discipline and Anti Ragging Measures to ensure clarity in all important matters as far as the decorum in the University is concerned. Details about the student activities and clubs organized including Fresher’s party, Community service activity, Udyami Bazaar, Alumni Meet, University Annual Sports and Techno Cultural Fest in the GD Goenka University were given by Prof. (Dr.) Tanuja Kaushik, Associate Dean, Student Welfare and encouraged students to take part in co-curricular and extra-curricular activities organized by the students.
