IIM Visakhapatnam's MBA admissions for the 2026-28 batch have a three-phase selection process. The selection criteria for IIM Vizag include academic performance, CAT 2025 scores, work experience, and diversity. The highest CAT cutoff for general category candidates is expected to be around 92+ percentile overall.

IIM Vizag MBA Admission Criteria 2026

IIM Vizag's MBA Admission Process 2026 uses a three-stage phase selection process where candidates are tested based on various parameters. Below is the detailed explanation of the selection process, along with the respective criteria:

IIM Vizag Selection Parameters:

• Academic Performance: Performances in 10th, 12th, and UG degree examinations.
• CAT 2025 Cutoff: Candidates must secure minimum sectional and overall cutoff percentiles.
• Work Experience: Relevant professional experience is considered.
• Personal Interview (PI): General performance in the interview is considered.

Phase 1 Selection Criteria

Candidates who registered for CAT 2025 and indicated IIM Vizag as their preferred school on the CAT form will be taken into account. In CAT 2025, candidates must achieve a minimum Section-wise & Aggregate Percentile. The MBA CAT cutoff scores are displayed below:

Phase 2 Selection Criteria

In Phase 2, Candidates are shortlisted for a personal interview based on their CAT scores, work experience, diversity, and academic standing. 

Phase 3 Selection Criteria

Candidates are shortlisted for personal interviews based on their CAT scores, diversity, work experience, and academic standing. For the same, the weighting isThose who make the Phase 2 shortlist must show up for a personal interview. It will not be necessary for candidates to attend the in-person interview at IIM Vizag if they have already been interviewed at one or more of the IIMs in Bangalore, Calcutta, Kozhikode, Lucknow, or Indore (only for PGP/PGPM programs).

Candidates must qualify for the overall and sectional CAT 2025 cutoffs to get shortlisted. The following table shows the minimum percentiles required for the first shortlist:

IIM Vizag Fee Structure 2026

At the start of IIM Viza Term 1, a one-time refundable caution deposit of IR 30,000 must be paid in addition to the program fee. Aditionally, each term fee will require an advance payment of INR 29,970/- (for Mess and AC charges).  Students will be responsible for paying any additional fees; any residual balance will be adjusted for the following term and reimbursed after the program.

Please note that the tuition, internet, case permission royalties, library, course materials, hostel room rent and service fees, career development activities, and more are all included in the program fee. Student activities, alumni events, insurance, and convocation costs are all included in the student welfare charge.

IIM Vizag Placement Statistics

IIM Visakhapatnam secured 100% placements for its graduating batch of 2023-24. The highest package stood at INR 43.25 lakhs per annum, and the average package was INR 15.61 lakhs while the median stood at Rs15.50 lakhs. The average salary in the top 10% of the batch stood at INR 24.62 lakhs, the average for the top 25% of the batch was INR 21.05 lakhs, and the average salary of the top 50% of the batch stood at INR 18.53 lakhs. A total of 26 students received dual offers, while 43 students were pre-placement offered (PPO). 

Sector-wise, this year's distribution of placement is 34% BFSI, 31% in consulting, 12% in manufacturing, 7% in logistics, and 16% falls in other categories, with real estate, healthcare, and telecommunications among them. Role-wise, the prominent sectors where significant proportions of students were placed include analytics, marketing, operations, strategy, consulting, and other key management domains.
