CBSE class 10th exams will commence soon, and students will be reaching the revision stage. The social science exam for CBSE class 10th is scheduled to occur in May 2021. CBSE Class 10th Social Science Marks Distribution
Class 10th Social Science is primarily divided into four sections - History, Geography, Political Science, and Economics. The theoretical paper is set for 80 marks, while the remaining 20 will be awarded through an internal assessment. The unit-wise distribution for the academic paper is given in the table below.

CBSE Class 10th Social Science Exam Pattern
It is essential for all candidates attempting the class 10th board exam this year to be aware of the exam pattern well before the exam. A systematic and planned preparation strategy can help students score better by improving their time management skills and focusing on weak areas. The class 10th Social Science exam 2021 will consist of 35 questions that will be distributed across the three sections.

Section A: This section consists of 20 questions with one mark. Each will have question types -
- Match the column
- Very short answer type
- Multiple choices
- Fill in the blank
- Picture-based questions
Section B: This section will contain eight short answer type questions of 3 Marks each, where students are required to answer each question in around 80 words.
Section C: Section C will contain six long answer type questions of 5 marks each, where students should answer each question in about 120 words.
Map-Based Question: The last question, 35th, will consist of 2 parts - a, b.
- Part A: This is typically a History question for two marks
- Part B: This will be a Geography question for four marks
The board will provide no overall choice for students appearing for the Class 10th Social Science exam. However, internal choices will be given within all three sections as follows:
- Section A - 5 questions
- Section B - 4 questions
- Section C - 2 questions
