Guru Kashi University (GKU) has set up a new call center on its campus recently.Throwing light on it, Gurlabh Singh Sidhu, chairman, GKU, said, “In the current era of information and communication technology, the progress of any organization is viewed by the precision, wholeness, and timeliness of its information delivery mechanism.”
He said students, parents, educationists and general public in different parts of India as well as in abroad were always keen to stay in touch with the GKU to seek information about educational programmes, activities, fee structure, official notifications, convocation, placement opportunities and availability of financial aid and any kind of information regarding the university.
Call Centres to act as a medium of communication
He further added that the call center would act as a bridge between the distant audience and the university and can help bridge the gap and help create a strong medium of communication. The center would share the requisite holistic information, the chairman added.
The call center of the university will also act as a help desk that will regularly answer the questions of the public regarding the admissions, educational programs, contact of university officials and sharing requisite information about newly started programs.
With the help of a call recording and redirecting facility, it will be possible to create a clients database and connecting the caller to the right official. The deputy director (IT), Sunny Arora, said a call center was a centralized office used for receiving or transmitting a large volume of queries by the telephone.Sukhraj Singh Sidhu, managing director, GKU, said through the regular upgrade of automated gadgets, the call center would be made state-of-the-art and ultimate in the coming time so that it serves its intended purpose effectively.Vice-Chancellor Dr. BS Dhaliwal and Pro-VC Dr. Jagpal Singh appreciated the efforts of the IT department for the need-based facility. They said this would further enhance the outreach and visibility of the GKU.
