On May 26, 2023, the Vivekananda Global University in Jaipur, an NAAC A+ rated university, hosted the inaugural Startup20x event in the state, Startup20X Jaipur - Rajasthan Startup20 Sabha, organised by the AIM Rajasthan Network (AIC Banasthali, Catalyst AIC, AIC JKLU, AIC MUJ, and ACIC VGU).
The event included fascinating speeches from some of the state of Rajasthan's early entrepreneurs as well as a roundtable discussion with important stakeholders. A number of investors and entrepreneurs participated in the event, which was inaugurated at the VGU auditorium. They offered their knowledge and emphasised the importance of start-ups in the growth of the nation.
Amit Jain, an IIT Delhi alumnus and the CEO and cofounder of the CarDekho Group, a well-known autotech business in India with a valuation of $1.2 billion in 2021, was prominent among those present at the event. One of the Sharks on the investors' panel for Season 2 of one of the most well-known competitive shows, Shark Tank India, was Amit, a giant in the car sector. At the show, he mentored aspiring company owners and supported mission-driven, sound firms.
Added participation The only Asian to ever hold that position was Mr. Mahavir Pratap Sharma, an enthusiastic angel investor, mentor, and speaker. He also served as the chair of the TiE Global board of Trustees. He co-founded Rajasthan Angels and currently serves as the chairman of both Rajasthan Angels and TiE IndiaAngels.
Among the attendees was Dharamveer Singh Chouhan, co-founder and CEO of Zostel and Zo World. Through a variety of service offerings, he is driving a community-led and experience-driven ecosystem that seeks to revolutionise travel and socialising in India. He earned an MBA from IIM Calcutta after graduating from IIT (BHU) in 2012.
An internationally renowned expert in edible oils and technology, Dr. Ajay Data is known for his linguistic email address technology. The brands of edible oil produced by His Data Group are industry leaders in oil production. He backs start-ups, speaks on a variety of stages, and promotes the acceptance of all fields. Currently, Dr. Data is assisting the Indian government on multilingual internet regulations.
Another participant, Mr. Rajendra Lara, served as the co-founder and CEO of FreshoKartz Agri Products Pvt. Ltd. and was employed by Suvidhaa.com as a software engineer. At one time, he served as IIIT, Jabalpur's E-Healthcare Advisor. He graduated from the Indian Institute of Information Technology, Design and Manufacturing in Jabalpur with a bachelor's degree in computer science.
Wow Labz's creator, Mr. Amit Singh, is a well-known name in Indian product engineering. He had a track record of bringing concepts to market within three to six months and was an expert in developing consumer and business products. He is also the co-founder and president of Headstart Network, the largest early-stage start-up community in India, which has been promoting the start-up ecosystem in that nation since 2007. Additionally, he is interested in mentoring young people who have a passion for education and personal development as well as in public policy and exponential technologies.
Dr. Sheenu Jhawar is a director on the board of directors at the Rajasthan-based group of multispecialty hospitals known as Apex Hospitals. She graduated from LSHTM and IIHMR. The first clinical governance consulting company in India, ACE Vision, was founded by Dr. Jhawar. She has a wealth of expertise in hospital management, clinical audits, and public health consulting. Dr. Jhawar has written books and given presentations at renowned conferences.
Mr Gaurav Sharma, CEO ACIC VGU Foundation, organised the occasion. Mr. Onkar Bagaria, CEO of VGU, gave the opening remarks. The audience and Mr. Dharamveer and Mr. Mahavir thereafter engaged in a panel discussion and interactive debate about start-ups, entrepreneurship, and the ecosystem and network that promotes the expansion and development of start-ups.
They discussed various aspects of startups and entrepreneurship while highlighting a number of earlier case studies on the subject. Students asked questions as well, and the panellists enthusiastically responded.
Later, Mr. Amit Jain, the keynote speaker, spoke about several elements of start-ups and entrepreneurship, including benefits and drawbacks. In addition to discussing the advancement of technology, artificial intelligence, the benefits of entrepreneurship in the modern age, the significance of an idea, investor, and mentor in the field of entrepreneurship, he also touched on a number of other topics, such as the challenges and shortfalls that arise when starting and growing a start-up. Various case studies in the area of entrepreneurship in Rajasthan were used to bolster his arguments. He discussed some of his experiences in establishing himself as a unicorn and creating a successful start-up.
Later, Dr. Sheenu Jhawar and Mr. Amit Singh engaged the audience in a conversation and answered questions. They covered a variety of topics pertaining to businesses and start-ups and also offered some of their personal experiences in the field of entrepreneurship. They shed light on a variety of topics, including marketing, finance, and other areas.
They talked on the role of entrepreneurship in our society as well as the future of technology and artificial intelligence. Later, the other visitors discussed the topic with one another.
The purpose of holding this event, anticipated results, and the future of entrepreneurship in our society were afterwards discussed by the speakers and guests. They all gave a quick introduction and described their individual start-ups.
As the conversation progressed, they talked about the future of start-ups and entrepreneurship, how things are changing and improving over time, how technology is evolving, how people's mindsets and perspectives are expanding to support a problem-solving mindset, and how an ecosystem and network are being developed to support the growth and establishment of new start-ups.
Along with entrepreneurship, they talked on a number of topics that should raise concern, such as international problems like environmental protection, etc. They also explored how individuals from various backgrounds and professions, such as those in education, science, technology, sports, health, agriculture, design, etc., may create a start-up and succeed as an entrepreneur while overcoming all of the challenges that arise during the process.
They also talked about how we may lift the underprivileged segments of society, as well as other classes and communities, up to the level where we ourselves reside. They also discussed the empowerment of women and how women are making amazing progress every day in the world of entrepreneurship and setting new records.
They also concentrated on how to spread the idea of startups and entrepreneurship to a larger population, including all social classes and communities, in order to benefit everyone by opening up new employment opportunities as well as other opportunities.
