The candidates applying for the AFCAT exam must pass the AFCAT physical tests. The parameters, such as weight and height, are separate for male and female candidates. However, we have mentioned all the criteria that are important for the AFCAT physical eligibility for females. Nevertheless, candidates are requested to stay at their best fitness level while appearing for AFCAT. Furthermore, medical examinations will be carried out separately for male and female candidates. Females will go through a medical examination by a medical board composed of male/female doctors/specialists or gynecologists. The lady medical officer, as a member of the board, will be present during the examination.

AFCAT Physical Eligibility

The minimum AFCAT physical criteria for the female applicants are as mentioned below. The AFCAT qualification is tested on various grounds, and the parameters are separate for each ground. Therefore, here are the various criteria according to the various grounds:

Physical Standard for AFCAT Flying Branch

The minimum height for females (standing) - 162.5 cms
The minimum height for females (sitting):
Minimum: 81.5 cms
Maximum - 96 cms
The weight and height should be proportionate.

Thigh Length - Maximum: 64 cms

Physical Standard for AFCAT Ground Branch (Technical and Non-technical)

The weight and height should be proportionate.

NOTE: Candidates applying from Nepal, Assam, and other hilly areas may have different weight and height specifications.

AFCAT Physical Test Details

The AFCAT physical test for females will be conducted under the supervision of the Female Medical Officer as the representative member of the Board. Although, few things are not permitted while appearing for the AFCAT, such as tattoos and usage of drugs.

Permanent tattoos are acceptable only on a few selected body parts, such as the inner surface of the forearm (from inside of the elbow to the wrist) and on the opposite side of the palm/back (dorsal) surface of the hand. Furthermore, tattoos dedicated to specific tribes and communities will be accepted based on each case.

Additionally, while appearing for the AFCAT examination, candidates must not consume narcotic drugs. The candidates found in possession or consumption of any narcotic drugs during medical examination, training, or service period will be permanently barred from the Indian Air Force.

AFCAT Physical Test Running

It is strongly advised to stay fit while registering for AFCAT. Candidates need to qualify for all the physical fitness tests. Therefore, candidates should be fit when appearing at the Service Selection Board for the Air Force Selection Board.
