Like the rest of the world which is adapting to changes imposed by the Covid-19 pandemic, Acharya Institutes is also going ahead with its admission process for undergraduate students for the academic year 2022-’23. It has designed its own set of criteria for admissions as Class 12 exams have been put on hold for State Boards, CBSE, and ICSE owing to the second wave of the pandemic.
Acharya Institutes has come out with an admission process where the candidate’s aggregate marks scored in Classes 10 and 11 will be considered. “The candidate has to fill in the application form that is available on the college website. The student has to upload all the necessary documents, including the marks cards of Class 10 and Class 11. After scrutiny, the eligible students will be called for a personal interview that will be held online,” said Dr. Maneesh Paul, Campus Director, Acharya Institutes.
Based on the marks obtained in the interview, as well as the marks obtained in Classes 10 and 11, the selected candidates will be sent an offer letter. Upon acceptance, they have to pay the provisional admission fee to secure the seat, Dr. Paul said. However, the final approval will be in accordance with the guidelines set by the approving authority of the respective boards/universities. “We will start the classes after the Class 12 results are announced,” he added, with bridge courses to help students acclimate to the academic demands of the university curriculum.
As part of its commitment to disseminating great education, Acharya Institutes has offered scholarships to students for more than a decade. Dr. Gurunath Rao Vaidya, Principal, Acharya Institute of Graduate Studies, remarked, "We have been awarding various sorts of scholarships up to 100% depending on merit." Aside from scholarships for children of teachers and military personnel, the university grants scholarships based on academics, athletics, extracurricular, and co-curricular activities.
Since last year, taking into account the contribution of frontline workers in battling against this pandemic, The management has been planning to grant their children a scholarship,” Dr. Vaidya added. this shall continue this year as well, he stated.
Acharya Institutes has also partnered with a bank in order to provide a level playing field for those hailing from economically weaker sections. “We have arranged for education loans. Students can avail themselves of this benefit as it comes with zero interest. The management will bear the burden of interest. With this we want to ensure that no eligible student will be deprived of studying at Acharya for want of finance,” Dr. Paul informed. The second wave of the pandemic is likely to adversely impact the economic situation. “Hence, to mitigate the burden, we have offered this scheme,” he added.
For the past three decades, Acharya Institutes, Bengaluru’s largest composite academy, has been in the service of providing education. It houses 13 institutions in the midst of an extensive green campus, offering various undergraduate and postgraduate programs, as well as professional courses.
