Details of informative and valuable Philip Kotler and VUCA webinar hosted by AMC Institutes
AMC Institutes seeks to educate its students with the necessary knowledge to foster confidence and enable the student community to meet future challenges through academic autonomy. AMC is always seeking new ways to incorporate innovation into its methods of conveying information to its pupils.
AMC Institutes core principle revolves around providing students with more than what the syllabus calls for so they can expand their horizons and their thinking capacities. The major goal of hosting webinars is to assist the audience in improving their knowledge and abilities by incorporating the most up-to-date techniques and approaches in their particular sectors. Webinars allow students to learn about new topics and vocations so that they can achieve their full potential at any time and from any location. It is precisely this culture and thought process that initiates AMC as a university to host webinars regularly, with eminent personalities and groundbreaking topics.
Below mentioned are the two interesting webinars hosted by AMC Institutes for the benefit of its students and faculty.
The Philip Kotler Webinar on Seven Views of How Marketing and Businesses are Evolving
Dr. Philip Kotler is an innovative thought leader, a revered educator, an accomplished author of over 50 books, a well-travelled speaker, a social activist, and a trusted consultant to the world's most recognized corporate brands. This webinar at AMC Institutions provided its listeners with valuable information related to the ins and outs of marketing. The modern world is unpredictable and the world economy is rapidly changing. Although there are various constants to its credit, the marketing sector still witnesses numerous changes and challenges daily. Staying up to date and understanding the subject matter precisely is key to staying on top of your game, economically as well as socially.
In this webinar, Dr. Kotler provided insights on the seven views of how marketing and businesses are evolving. He discussed the vital functions in a corporation, how anything other than these obligations turns into costs by default, and how to reduce them for improved organizational performance. He enlightened the audience with the emotional aspects of humans that come into play during decision-making and how that affects numerous factors for a company or product. There were also several precautionary measures mentioned for modern-day entrepreneurs such as the importance of always considering the bigger picture before initiating anything of significance. What are the aspects to make note of in a company, the challenges faced by students in today’s day and age that possess a turbulent future, the fact that better marketing leads to a better world, were just a few of the noteworthy topics that were covered. How to deal with unprecedented circumstances and make the best out of such situations were discussed too.
The webinar was well received with around 15,600 registrations on youtube. Dr. Kotler provided his attendees with valuable information related to his seven books that contain all of the information discussed. The books cover various topics such as how to leverage marketing in the growing digital world, the importance of STP, the evolution eras of marketing, branding, social media marketing, health care marketing etc. which were discussed on the forum as well. The idea of initiating a marketing club on the campus of AMC Institutes honouring the marketing guru’s 90th birthday, and hence naming it after the guru himself called the ‘Philip Kotler Club 90’ was well received by Dr. Kotler, and the initiative is well underway.
VUCA and its Application in the Modern World
This webinar was held in collaboration with Leaders Excellence at Harvard Square, with Prof. David Lewin from UCLA Anderson School of management and presided over by chief guest Dan Hoeyer, founder and president of Leaders Excellence at Harvard Square.
A lot of us, if not all of us, belong to the business rat race of today’s world but how many of us are aware of the VUCA concept? It is safe to say that not many of us come from a place of understanding the concept of Volatility, Uncertainty, Complexity and Ambiguity in the business universe. AMC to bridge this gap between people and their proper understanding of ‘VUCA and its applications in the modern world’, hosted the VUCA webinar by Prof. David Lewin from UCLA Anderson School of Management.
This webinar covered various topics for people of various sectors like entrepreneurs, students, social-media prodigies, banking officials, professors, journalists, researchers and many more. The professor briefed his audience on the principles of VUCA and what it represents. The current COVID-19 virus has put the entire world in lockdown, creating one of the worst times of a VUCA world. The changes that are taking place since the start of the pandemic are large-scale and occur instantaneously. There is a shortage of leadership everywhere.
Leaders are unprepared to lead effectively. In this fast-changing and disruptive environment, command and control structures fail. Leaders are expected to act on incomplete or insufficient information. The role and type of leadership are being tested as we are trying to come out of this crisis. Leaders cannot predict the future but need to make sense of it to thrive. Although VUCA might seem inescapable in certain industries, you can manage yourself, your team and your organization to mitigate its effects. You can even use it to your advantage. Insights about the key to managing in this environment are to break VUCA down into its parts and to identify volatile, uncertain, complex, or ambiguous situations. The professor briefed the audience about how each type of situation has its causes and resolutions, thereby making it necessary for one to aim to deal with one factor at a time. In his webinar, Prof. Lewin proposed a framework that you can use to respond to VUCA threats. He suggested that one could counter volatility with vision, meet uncertainty with understanding, react to complexity with clarity and fight ambiguity with agility.
He concluded this insightful webinar by saying that, in any industry or organization that's affected by VUCA, you have a choice. Either you allow VUCA to "manage," overload and overwhelm you, or you accept and manage it so that you and your team can mitigate its effects. When you decide to accept VUCA, you choose to make yourself and your people less vulnerable, and you empower everyone to deal with uncontrollable, unpredictable forces. Also, he said that that one can view VUCA as a challenge to improve one’s leadership and management skills, or one can turn it into an opportunity to make his/her team more effective by focusing on the right areas.
AMC Instituions Webinar
The pandemic imposed a variety of restrictions, with the education sector bearing the burden of these restrictions to a great extent. With schools and universities shuttered and the rash decision to start online classes, the bulk of students have been left without access to information and expertise. However, as online classes became more common and students became more comfortable with the situation, they began to see a light at the end of the tunnel, and AMC, getting the benefit of the internet's ability to make things simple and easy for educators, resorted to webinars for its students, among other adaptations.
The two webinars stated above were a big hit with students, so AMC decided to keep the trend going. AMC aims to provide more informative and valuable webinars in the future and invites you to participate in this unique experience.
Their Instagram and website are updated daily and feature all information about the university activities. AMC Institutes requests everyone to follow through and sign up for any future webinars that may be of interest to you, and you will not be disappointed in doing so.
