AIU-VGU-AADC inaugurated a five-day Faculty Development Program (FDP) on May 13, 2024, at Vivekananda Global University Jaipur.
The inaugural session was marked by an enlightening address by Er Onkar Bagaria, CEO of VGU, who underscored the critical importance of aligning teaching and learning methodologies with the transformative vision outlined in the National Education Policy (NEP) of 2020. He emphasized the imperative of adopting application-based teaching methodologies, fostering interactive classroom environments, and instilling Indian values in educational practices.
Themed "Empowering Higher Education: Understanding and Implementing National Education Policy 2020," the FDP aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of the NEP 2020 and its implications for the higher education landscape. Renowned experts from prestigious institutions led sessions covering a range of crucial topics including National Research Foundation's Objectives and Research Ethics; NEP 2020: Indian Ethos & Culture; Multidisciplinary Education & Holistic Development; Technology and Education with Reference to NEP; NEP 2020 & Innovation in Teaching Practices.
Eminent speakers leading these sessions included: Prof. D.V.S. Bhagvanulu, Pro-President, Vivekananda Global University Jaipur; Dr. Ritika Mahajan, Assistant Professor, Department of Management Studies, MNIT Jaipur; Dr. Dipti Sharma, Associate Professor, Department of HSS, MNIT Jaipur; Dr. Dilip P. Barad, Dean, Professor, and Head, Dept. of English, Maharaja Krishna Kumar Singhji Bhavnagar University, Bhavnagar, Gujarat; Dr. Vinod Shanwal, Professor, Gautam Buddha University, Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh.
The FDP represents a collaborative effort to equip educators with the knowledge and tools necessary to navigate the evolving educational landscape in line with the vision set forth by the NEP 2020. The valedictory address by Prof. Meeta Mathur, Department of Economics, University of Rajasthan emphasized the pivotal role of educators in transforming the educational landscape and highlighted the need for continuous professional development and the adoption of innovative teaching practices to meet the evolving demands of higher education.
