In their sixth convocation Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad is preparing to felicitate more than 100 students with gold medals for achieving academic excellence in various disciplines at its sixth convocation. At the event, the varsity will also award an honorary doctorate in philosophy to renowned scientist and NITI Aayog member, V K Saraswat, along with 738 students who will receive their regular PhDs.

The chief guest for the event will be the governor of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, Governor, ESL Narasimhan. The convocation address will be delivered by Saraswat. As part of the convocation ceremony, a total of 2, 67,603 undergraduate/postgraduate/ doctoral degrees will be awarded to students, of which a majority of degrees (1,53,014) will be given to B.Tech students, followed by M.Tech (39,562) students.
What the Vice Chancellor had to say
Speaking about the technical university, the VC Venugopal Reddy said the varsity has completed eight years imparting technical education to the students and preparing them to be adaptable to ever-changing technological developments and face emerging challenges. "The varsity is actively involved in collaborative programs. It has signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with academic institutions/industries for mutual co-operation in several areas and has been working hard to improve the quality of education," he said.
