Navsari Agricultural University situated in Navsari, Gujarat, India was established in 2004 under the Agricultural University Act 2004 on May 1, 2004. NAU’s jurisdiction covers seven districts of South Gujarat viz., Surat, Navsari, Bharuch, Valsad, Narmada, Tapi and Dangs. At present, there are 10 colleges imparting 7 bachelor’s, 45 Master’s and 26 doctoral degree programs. There are faculty of Agriculture, Horticulture, Forestry, Veterinary Sciences, Agribusiness Management, Agricultural Engineering, Agricultural Biotechnology and Fisheries Science. Further, there are 25 research centres at 15 locations to carry out need-based research on mandate crops.
The college has admitted a total of 605 students to undergraduate degree programs and 340 students to postgraduate degree programs. The university also admitted 289 students in four diploma courses offered by seven polytechnics. NAU, Navsari has recently signed an international MoU with Accrued Gains Pvt. Ltd, Botswana for the commercial-scale production and marketing of banana pseudostem based Organic Liquid Nutrient “NOVEL'' (internationally patented technology) in entire Africa. Further this technology has also been licensed to 11 private companies of Gujarat and 8 of Maharashtra. Some highlights of the college are mentioned below.

The university has numerous facilities for the students to gain more practical knowledge and for an exciting college life. The library of NAU has received Best Usage of “J-Gate@CeRA” award (2018) and Best CeRA Ambassador Award (2019) for West Zone by ICAR-CeRA. Further, NAU has 21 boy’s hostels, 15 girl’s hostels and 1 International hostel to accommodate more than 3500 students. University also has student’s amenities like indoor and outdoor sports facilities including gym, auditorium, bank, post office and health centre. Admission notice will be published in leading Gujarati newspapers near the date of declaration of results of Higher Secondary Examination. The prospectus along with the application form will be prepared by the Registrar and can be available from the office of the Principal of the concerned Polytechnic of Navsari Agricultural University. On receipt of applications, the merit list will be prepared by the Registrar. Candidates will be selected for admission strictly on merit, based on the marks obtained by them in Higher Secondary Examination (12th standard).
The interview/ counselling will be conducted by the Admission Committee based on the merit list. At the time of interview/ counselling (admission), the original documents/ certificates including physical fitness certificate, mark sheet(s), caste certificate(s) etc. will be verified/examined by the Admission Committee before provisional admission and registration. These candidates shall also be required to produce a medical certificate of physical fitness in the form prescribed by the University from a Registered Medical Officer with the application form and in case of need they will also be examined by the concerned University Medical Officer.
The students studying in B.Sc. (Agri.) at College of Agriculture, Bharuch Campus, Bharuch has residential facilities during their degree programme. The Bharuch Campus has two hostels one for Boys and another for Girls.
BHRUGU BOY’S HOSTEL
The Bhrigu Boys Hostel has two wings viz. A and B. Both wings have the capacity to reside 288 boys students in the hostel. There are a total of 96 rooms in the A and B wings Boys hostel which include two Guest rooms and each Security room, Caretaker room, Rector’s office. All the rooms are self-contained. Each wing has 48 rooms with triple seated beds. At present, there are 139 students residing in Bhrugu Boys hostel. The boys hostel has a mess, recreation, entertainment, furniture and other facilities. There is a Solar system of 6000 ltr. capacity fitted in the hostel. The RO Filter unit of 1000 ltr/day capacity is present in the boys hostel along with a cooler system. The B. Sc. (Agri.) Students residing in the hostel have a water cooling system in each lobby of the hostel. There is a mess attached to the boy’s hostel. The seating capacity of the mess is 80 students at a time.
