Placements and Internships

2.5

One of my seniors in Computer Science engineering department got placed in Accenture for pay of 35,000 PM. Though this is quite a high pay for a fresher, compared to other well-established colleges placements is quite low. On the internship side of the spectrum, our college administration offers little to no assistance, but on the bright side our professors are more than willing to help us out in this regard.

Entrance Exams and Admissions

After my Pre-university exams, there was a lot of burden on my shoulders. Scoring good in my entrance exams was critical because a good CET (Common Entrance Test), conducted by the government of Karnataka every year so as to simplify the process of joining a good engineering college, would assure me a seat in a good college. CET ranks are based on the Pre-University scores and the CET marks scored. Not all but most colleges in Karnataka admit students based on their CET ranks. The admissions are based on first-come, first-serve basis where if 2 students opt for the same college, then the student with the higher ranking gets in. Since most colleges accept these CET scores, it is quite competitive, with over 1.5 lakh students taking the CET every year. I've always been passionate about aeroplanes and hence the obvious choice for me was Aeronautical Engineering. Aeronautical is quite a competitive field of engineering with more and more students opting for Aeronautics is on the rise. All my hard work had paid off when I got into one of the most reputed colleges known for Aeronautical Engineering.

Academics and Faculty

3.5

If asked if I had any sour experiences in college, I would most definitely always say that the time which the college started was BAD. My college would start at 8.30 AM and my college was on the far side of the city. I had to almost cover 25Km every day to reach my college every morning. At first, I would leave my home at 7.00 AM and reached my college in time, which was/is a big pain to deal with. But all this commute every day was worth it as we have one of the best Teaching faculties one can ask for. Some professors are old school and still follow the chalk and board technique while some young faculties make use of powerpoint presentations. Overall I like/d my stay in college where I met wonderful friends and even better mentors.

Fees and Scholarships

3.5

I might say i am one of lucky guys to get a seat through the government CET quota. But people who are less gifted  and didn't make the cut with the CET quota, pay amywhere between 2 lakhs to 3 lakhs per year, which is a clear rip off. Again the government of Karnatka also offers scholarships for students who perform well in studies.

Clubs and Associations

2.5

Clubs were literally non existent 2 years ago, but efforts are being made with the college management making efforts to introduce various clubs such as Sports club, NSS club et.. Though we had college fests, they were not conducted in a very grand way but a rather poor effort from the management. But hey the college is to blame in this regard. Since the college is located on the outskirts of bangalore, there was little to no pollution of any sorts. Free from the woes of the city life, the overall college atmosphere was a rather pleasant and a peaceful one.
