Amulya Agarwal's Review on B. J. Medical College, Ahmedabad

I got admission via NEET-UG 2016. Being from Maharashtra, I had to take admission through the All India quota (AIQ) which is 15% of all seats in the college. The rest 85% seats were filled through GUJ-CET in my year. Now it's all through NEET. But there is still the 85-15 ratio for in-state students and AIQ respectively. I had an All India Rank of 789. Usually, if you get a rank of under 1000, you'll get admission under the AQI without many issues.

College timings are 09:00 am-17:00 pm. I wish I could give a detailed structure but it's highly variable year to year and batch to batch. Quality of teaching is great, lectures are conducted regularly. Texts and exams are periodic and help you stay in touch with the syllabus. Overall experience is amazing. You have 110-acre campus along with a separate hostel campus which is just dreamy. You won't get such hostels in a govt. College, ever. Seniors are great, you'll develop a great bond with them eventually. No ragging, just fyi.

The annual fee is just laughable, INR 6000/- for a year. Scholarships are given to category students very easily. Students of SC/ST and SEBC classes get around lakhs in scholarships and the college provides free books to them as well. Around 50% of students (category ones) get scholarship every year. Loans, not needed. You saw the fees, come'on.

The main festival of the BJMC and Civil Hospital A'bad is BJ Beats, the annual Megafest. Taking place in the month of June, BJ Beats has been graced by my Salim Sulaiman, Sachin Jigar, Bappi Lehri etc. It's a four-day four-night fest along with a 10-day long sports Olympics. College life is great.
