There is only one official hostel of UCC. This is just behind the college. The college is in a good and porch area so many PGs are available. The fees for the hostel is around 6000-7000(p.a). Its in a OK condition not very neat and excellent. There is only one canteen here where you'll not get regular/ proper food, you'll get snacks only(kachori , Samosa) @ 10 each. Classrooms are not proper , they are not well built , crooked , dirty, non AC. Lab is good , it has good sitting space AC and proper computers to work on. Library is also good , the library system is also good you can rent books for just a fee of 10rs. (Isn't it great). No dining hall , just 4-5 benches is the canteen. WiFi is very poor , even there are many people who don't even have the password for the wifi connection. Well bathrooms are quit dirty , smelly. There are 2 grounds (one for cricket , one for other games). Kabaddi court , tennis court , a small games room for indoor games is also provided.
Starting with the eligibility criteria , I can inform you that the admissions are purely based on cut off lists , and quotas (management and sports). There is no entrance examination. The cut offs for CBSE board students and Rajasthan board students are also different. They have a gap of Like 10%(CBSE-92%, Raj. Board - 82%) . The SC/ST and OBC students have generally low cut off (82-80%) For general category the cut off lists are high (around 90% for hons. Course and 92 for pass course). UCC gives around 4 lists for all courses so if you don't qualify for the first one don't worry you have 3 more lists to look up for. The % goes on decreasing with every cut off list. When I got admission, the first list (hons.) Was at 91.4 %. And for pass course was 92 %.
Well UCC is a govt. College so you can guess how will the work structure will be here. The teachers are good, knowledgeable and experienced. The students are also not so concerned about learning and attending college. So in a class of 50, you'll see only 15 guys every day.
Well this is the portion why I feel glad to be in the UCC. The fees is nominal like any other govt. College. The fees for my course (hons.) Is around 5600(p.a) . For pass course as well the fees is under 6000(p.a). Apart from the nominal fee structure , you get loads of scholarships , like mukhyamantri scholarship scheme , MHRD scholarship , samaj kalyan scholarship etc etc. Around 10 scholarships are available offering you money up to 10,000rs. So you can recover your fees if you get one of the scholarships.
Student societies , clubs ??? Dude like what's that ? :p :D. There is no club whatsoever only some guys who are preparing to fight student president election can be seen with 6-7 people around him. Its almost an year for me in thus college and there is no festival whatsoever. In general , I can say that life in UCC is boring as hell. If you think you'll have the best days of your life here , then you're mistaken. Yes the election aspirants are helpful. And you'll get other facilities like NCC etc. Just like any other govt college.
