Aditi Nandi's Review on Vel Tech Rangarajan Dr. Sagunthala R and D Institute of Science and Technology

I did one industrial visit in APEX HIGHTECH,BANGALORE(no stipend are allowed). Next,i did my third year internship of 20 days in NTPC(national thermal power corporation)( no stipend). The companies which come up for placements are congizant, Accenture, HCl, Sutherland globals etc for various posts. The average salary offered was approx 5lpa. Being an alumnus now I would say, the alumni network is good teachers or the group call personally up if our college has some functions.

There are 2 hostels for girls within the college campus and 4 hostels for boys nearby the college campus. Fees were INR 2 Lakh for single ac.INR 1.25 Lakh for AC rooms. 2 College meal's average cost is Rs 40-50. Other than this everything was good.

They asked for 12th pass in PCM (PHYSICS, CHEMISTRY, MATH). They asked us to be present there on the admission day, I filled all the forms and they had a personal interview regarding my marks and which department I wanted to opt. I didn't attend any entrance exam, but after our batch, our college became deemed and now there is the entrance exam for getting through.

Classes start from 8:30 and ends by 3:45.Projects were mainly from the third year(mini project), final year(main project). The mini project should be done in clg and final yr project can be done by different companies or College itself. Quality and methods were good enough. My overall experience was very good.

Fee at VelTech University, Chennai is INR 1.2 Lakh per year.ForECEe dept, Scholarship was around INR 70-75000 UMahatmahatma gandhi scholarship. More than 60-70 members get scholarship. Loans are mostly not needed and if required can be taken from vijaya bank or any other banks.

There are various student groups like dance group, NJO group, NCC group etc. Every festival is being celebrated, with all cultural and technical collaborated events. Life was good in general.
