Placements and Internships

2.5

Well, I have not done any internships and seen anyone else doing it throughout my entire 4 years of engineering. The key companies that come to the campus for recruitment are Tech Mahindra, L&T IT Firm, Wipro, and to name a few. I can't recall all of them. But, these are the ones that come every year. There is hardly any core company that comes for recruitment. All the students have to initially undergo an aptitude test given by the respective company. And then the further process goes on. For some, there might be a GD or so. And the last is an interview. Average salary package varies for every company but mostly it is around 2.5 to 3 Lakhs per year. Coming to the Alumni network they are well attached to everyone and have a good rapport with all.

College Infrastructure and Hostel Facilities

5

The infrastructure is well constructed. It's looks gives a rich feel. You will fall in love with the beautiful gardens and the wonderful ambience all around in the college. It's actually very neat and clean and hygienic in surrounding. There are two blocks A and B buildings. A block comprises of Electrical and Mechanical department with their practical labs on their respective floors and large auditorium hall. The B block comprises of IT, Electronics, Computer department along with the reception, office, library, auditorium, HR department and the principal office. The entire college is managed by the Pallottine Group which is taken care by the Father's. Well, there are three hostel buildings in the campus out of which two buildings are of boys hostel and one big building is the girls hostel. The hostel fees is above 55K and now it might have increased more since they have further developed the infrastructure. For PG's you will have to go in Nagpur City. Nearby college you won't find any rooms for rental stay. Their cost may vary. So can't mention a price range for it. The college has a canteen and a Coffee Day Express (CDX) and the price of foods are quite affordable. If the outer infrastructure is so well constructed and maintained then do I need to mention the quality of classrooms and other indoor things. Even they are well built. The block B consists of a 'Lift'. WiFi is available but cannot be used by students.

Entrance Exams and Admissions

Hi everyone! St. Vincent Pallotti College of Engineering and Technology is located on the outskirts of Nagpur City, near Jamtha, Opposite to VCA stadium. Well, this is one of the most strictest Engineering colleges in Nagpur. They mainly focus on quality and not on quantity. So, here you won't get internal marks for free. You have to study hard and score well to earn those 20 marks which is easily given in other colleges for free. I hope you understand what I am trying to say. They have a very strong panel of professional professor's who are highly educated and knowledgeable in their respective field. So you will definitely have your doubts cleared for sure. It comes under RTMNU or Nagpur University. Well, the eligibility criteria is minimum 12th pass with PCM score above 60% for general category and above 55% for SC/ST category. For students who are 12th pass will also need to mention their state entrance exam (SEEE) score card. Based on their score they are allotted respective engineering department. The cutoffs may vary every year for some engineering department since it is never fixed. At the time of my admission the cutoff for Electrical Engineering Department was somewhat between 72 to 75 marks and above in SEEE. The admission procedure is via centralized admission process. They also allot admissions to students who have done diploma in engineering. They are directly admitted to 2nd year of their respective department.

Fees and Scholarships

3.5

During my year of engineering the course fee was around 88K per year but now it's around 1 lakh per year. There are many scholarship's and freeships available for the students. You better enquire it from the college office. There are around 25% to 30% of students who get scholarships. Loans are easily available but not sure of which bank.

Clubs and Associations

4.5

Well, there is a student society team on the campus which looks after the ragging cases in college, if any. Pallotti is a ragging free college. No one rag you here, I mean the brutal ragging that takes place in other colleges. You can expect a healthy ragging like doing dance or singing or something else. No brutal or severe acts will be asked to perform by you because the college is too strict in this matter. Every student who takes admission in Pallotta has to make an affidavit for ragging and submit it to the college. Coming to main festivals traditional day, Onam, Independence Day, Republic day and many more festivals are celebrated with enthusiasm. 'Insight' is the main event which is conducted and celebrated on a grand scale. In general, the college life is just awesome. But, it depends on how you see it.
