Placements and Internships

The Campus Placement Cell of the college is highly active and efficient, helping First and Second Year students who have registered for their newsletter e-mail secure internships with start-ups, NGOs and other organisations, mainly through their Internship Fair and also throughout the rest of the year, and helping Final Year students secure reputable jobs with MNCs like McKinsey & Company, NGOs and start-ups.

The entire college is a completely no smoking, no alcohol zone, and the campus is extremely clean and well-maintained with several lush green lawns and flower-beds. There is a cafeteria where various refreshments and snacks are available, and also a smaller food stall near the Science block, which is popularly known as the Science Dhaba. The Humanities classes are held in the Main Block classrooms while the Science classes are held in the Science Block. Classrooms are air-conditioned and equipped with projectors to facilitate audio-visual presentations. The college has an Internet Resource Centre for the use of all Junior and Senior members, and the college provides very high speed WiFi facility to all members.There is an audio-visual room and separate common rooms for junior and senior members. There is a football court, a basketball court and a well-equipped gymnasium which also has a rock-climbing wall. The security features of the college are impeccable, as the campus is monitored through CCTV cameras, the IDs of all students are regularly checked at the entry gate, and there is a readily approachable anti-ragging committee and committee against the sexual harassment of women. The curfew time of the college is 10pm, after which all entry gates are locked. The college is also well-connected by public transportation as there is a rickshaw stand in front of the college, and the Vishwavidyala metro station is at a walking distance. Parking space is available for the private vehicles of teachers and students.

St. Stephen's College, New Delhi, regarded as one of the premier Science and Arts colleges in India, offers undergraduate courses in Physics, Chemistry, English, Economics, Mathematics, History, Philosophy, Sanskrit, B.Sc. (Programme) and B.A. (Programme). The nonpareil faculty members of this college, officially known as the Senior Members, are not only highly qualified academicians but also excellent human beings who are always there for the students of the college - the Junior Members - whenever they need them. Regular theory classes are held for every undergraduate course and they are complemented by weekly tutorial classes wherein the teachers review the lessons taught through the week through exercises and also clarify any doubts that the students may have. Moreover, the teachers are always approachable for clearing doubts through e-mail and during their off periods. The class hours of the science courses are particularly hectic, as there are regular and rigorous three-hour laboratory classes three to four days a week, along with intensive theoretical classes. The college hosts a huge library with thousands of books on diverse subjects ranging from Literature to Quantum Physics. The college also offers part-time Certificate, Diploma and Advanced Diploma language courses in several languages. Recently, the college, in collaboration with Network 18, has introduced an open course on Citizenship And Cultural Richness, which is a multi-disciplinary certificate course for any citizen of Delhi with an eagerness to gain knowledge on issues ranging from Politics to Science. The weekly lectures are hosted in the College Hall by some eminent faculty members and ex-Stephenians.

The college has a vibrant cultural life as there are a total of 45 co-curricular and academic societies that regularly organise and participate in various intra-college and inter-college events, some of the notable ones being The Students' Union Society, The Debating Society, The Shakespeare Society, Spic Macay, The Planning Forum, and The Indian Choreography Society. In February each year, a three-day long intra-college cultural fest, called 'Harmony', is organised through the collaborative efforts of the various societies, wherein all the students get together and let their hair down through a number of fun activities and games. Ample opportunities are available for students interested in sports to participate in various inter-college competitions and tournaments.
