The institute is in the heart of the city and is quite near to the the bus stop. The classrooms are ok but not all of them have working projectors. Labs are good with working apparatus. A new building has come up with better labs and classrooms and a workshop is under construction.
There are 3 govt engineering colleges in chandigarh and this one comes last of all in ranking these 3. While UIET (PU) scores better than CCET in terms of placements, academic rigour in CCET is much better than UIET. My batch saw a very poor placement season for Mechanical, with very few companies coming but CSE saw some very good placements. However, the next batch got excellent placement opportunities and this is also the time when there was a drastic change in the academic staff.
College fees is very nominal. on an aversge 30-35,000 per sem (of 6 months). there is scholarship for top 6 performers in every year.
The institute has ample clubs and all of them are very active. THe members of cultural clubs have participated in several cultural fests and won most of them. Its a small institute and, thus, no politics.
The sports ifrastructure is not that good but its not bad either.
