Placements and Internships

- Previously, IIIT Bh was under BPUT university. 2014-18 is the first batch of their own university. Earlier, only Dell comes in 3rd Year to hire interns and that only from CSE & IT. But this time we are hoping that 5-6 companies would come to hire interns. bOtherwise students have to do their internship on their own. College doesn't help at all in this. In case a new company would come it would be software based.
- Average placement till 2016 was approx 4.5 lakhs per annum. Placement of CSE and IT branches are only good. ETC and EEE students have to suffer as there is no core company coming to our campus. In 2016 highest package was approx 10 lakhs given by Huawei and Sap Labs both was pool drive. On campus, Dell was highest with 6.5 lakhs hiring 24 students. This current placement season few companies came with a good package likeJuspay8-12lakhs, Nucleus Software 12lakhs,Codenation24 lakhs. We are hoping for more companies.
- Regarding alumni network, there is no such methodology existing except FB group. But now an intranet website is being designed to connect with alumni.
College Infrastructure and Hostel Facilities

- Our college is spread in 25 acres are which is not very less. There are two different buildings for Girls and Boys Hostel each having 4 different blocks for each year. All the buildings are having 8 floors. Accommodation fee is 8500 per semester which is very less. As the college is outskirts of Bhubaneswar, residing outside is not a good choice. As there is the village near college one can easily get a 1bhk flat in INR 4,000.
- Food in mess is average but worth for the money. You have to spend daily 60 rupees only on mess food including breakfast, lunch & dinner. Classrooms are good but they don't have ac. Library is okay satisfying the requirements of students. Wifi is a bit slow sometimes but has good speed when there are fewer students nearly 3-4mbps.
Entrance Exams and Admissions
- The admission is totally based on JEE Mains Score for Btech admission. You have to apply directly to college as there is a separate counselling process. So, having a JEE Mains score is mandatory to get admission. From this year a new branch Computer Engineering is started. First round cutoff for CSE in 2016 was 241 opening marks but after 5th round closing was 140 for outer states candidate. While home state candidates for case opened on 180 and closed on 81.
Academics and Faculty

- Faculties are an average having done bachelors from local universities. Some of them have done masters from IIT and a very few have done from foreign universities. The quality of education is an average comparing to other institutes is ok. Now Director has advised faculties to make video lectures and upload to students so that it would be easy to learn.
- Actually, College is in its baby steps, it needs a hell lot of infrastructure and high-quality labs setup here. It needs a few more years to stand at a level to be compared with top institutions. But it's a good college and far far better than Tier-2 private colleges. Placement is getting better and better in coming years. STPI is setting up its laboratory and a small tech park near campus which would be very helpful for students. AS, each year cutoff is increasing more and more good students will come making college better than earlier. The students who will take new admission in college ,for them it would be a good college. AS, their seniors have made a platform that would have a future impact.
Fees and Scholarships

- Tuition Fee per year is INR 50,000 and including all fees like the library, accommodation it's INR 72,000 for 2014-18 batches. But now it's increased to nearly 80,000. There are only two scholarships available Prerna and Medhabruti and that only for Odisha state students. If you are an outsider it's not for you. You have to apply on your own for different scholarships available in your state or elsewhere.
- Andhra bank is on our college campus but it only gives a loan to local students i.e. from Odisha. If you are able to pay the fees you don't require loan but most of the students take a loan. You have take loan from your nearest bank in your hometown.
Clubs and Associations

- There are many societies like Tech society under which comes Technotronics club, Coding for all, IEEE Chapter, ACM Chapter. There is a dramatics club for Drama lovers and one Raps & Music club. There are 3-4 dance clubs for dancers one of them is Gdg. There is a literary club under News and Publication Society and much more.
- Advaita is the Techno-cult Fest of IIIT-Bh which witnesses more than 10,000 crowds each year. There are many events from Rockathon to LaMode(Fashion Show) to Footloose. Its a 3-day event of which one is celeb night , EDM and BDM other two nites. We have events like Technova, Dirt Race much more showcasing their robots do like humans. We have a cult night in oct-nov Vibes for dance and music. Nebulae welcome party for freshers in September last.
- Life in college in awesome. You can move freely anywhere in the campus. If you want fun you can hangout with friends. If you want to study you can go to the library. There are many students of our college who cleared GSoC (Google Summer of Code) earning 3lpa in college life. There is each and every type of students whom you can think of, You will get here.
- So, take a move. Don't hesitate if you are able to get admissions here study here.
