Placements and Internships

3.5

  • IT firms are the main recruiters in placement drives at MAIT.
  • There are plenty of job opportunities for CSE, IT and ECE students in these firms.
  • In the case of core branches EEE and ME, the placements are next to no opportunities. But they may try their hand in IT firms to start doing jobs.
  • The average salary offered is around 3.5 lakh per annum and the highest package ranges from 12 lakh - 18 lakhs.
  • One drawback of IP University is that you can't apply for foreign internships as the university's curriculum doesn't allow us to do so.

College Infrastructure and Hostel Facilities

5

  • There are hostels available at MAIT, New Delhi for male students and an out of the campus hostel called Maharaja Sadan for female students. The charges are Rs.1 lakh per annum.
  • The college has an awesome Amphitheatre having and impressive sitting capacity, attached Union Bank branch dedicated to college works.
  • We have a well-structured library equipped with the latest and up to date course and competition exam books and journals and has the facility of book-bank for free.
  • The classrooms are good and have comfortable sitting desks. And the labs have the proper equipment required for studies. The computer labs are also in good condition equipped with LAN internet. And each of the streams has their own respective blocks(buildings).
  • And there is a huge block to cater the needs of first-year students having common subjects of study. And all the campus buildings have renewable energy source equipment installed over them (solar panels and water heaters).
  • MAIT has a beautiful admin block in front of which there is a fountain adjoining to which there is a statue of Maharaja Agrasen.
  • Around the college, there are many PG options available at decent pricing.
  • The locality is safe and sound. Individual flats can also be taken on rent.
  • Tiffin facility and cooks are easily available here. Begampur market can cater to needs of basic stationary and food and other stuff for daily use.
  • Many snack corners are there in and around the college to hang out at (during bunks).
  • The campus also has a basketball court, a synthetic badminton court (well maintained), and a spectator arena along the podium and a ground for general sports activities. The are 4 places to have some snacks and meals within the college premises.
  • One is a big cafeteria serving any type of vegetarian fast foods. And one Amul parlor, and one Pizza Burger parlor and another small cafeteria with all basic snacks and beverages.

Entrance Exams and Admissions

  • The eligibility criteria at Maharaja Agrasen Institute of Technology, New Delhi are a 55% aggregate in class 12 and IPUCET.
  • Admission are done through IPUCET conducted each year around the month of June and July, and MAIT is one of the best colleges of IP University and to get into IPU you have to get under 10K rank (for general category).

Academics and Faculty

4

  • MAIT is a two shift college (morning and evening) and the timings are 8 AM - 4 PM and 11 AM -7 PM for morning and evening shift respectively. There are 2 sessionals and one end term examination in each semester.
  • The end term weight is 75 marks and the two sessionals combined weigh 20 marks and remaining 5 marks are for assignments, attendance, behaviour, etc.
  • The faculties are good and are qualified from premier institutions of India namely IIT's, DTU, NSIT, NIT's, etc.
  • Still, the faculties are best here having ample industrial experience. The faculties here are frank and easy to talk to. The college as a whole is good for whom are keen to do studies and it's not enforced onto the students.
  • The students are at freedom to study on their on or wanna study from faculties, as the attendance scenario is quite smooth to deal with.

Fees and Scholarships

4

  • The course fee at MAIT is about Rs.1.05 lakh per annum. And the hostel charges are around Rs.1 lakh per annum.
  • The scholarships are provided to the meritorious students, who are college and university toppers.

4

  • The college has all the popular societies, clubs, institutions, and cells. Namely IEEE, EDC, SAE, CSI, GOOGLE Developers, Eco-clubs, Dance society (Funk in Motion, Aura, etc.), Drama society (Delhi's famous Aayaam), Literature society, etc.
  • Maharaja Agrasen Institute of Technology organizes its annual fest Tech Surge and Mridang. Which is host to many cultural, technical, and non-technical events. It is the time where the college springs into a carnival and festive mood.

Placements & Internships : I have done training through DMRC. I have also worked as an intern at Coding Blocks. Companies at MAIT do not appear for hiring interns. However, MAIT has a good number of CSE and IT companies coming for recruitment. The maximum package goes up to 12.5lpa (ion trading). Average remains nearly 3.5lpa. Most students are placed.  The alumni network is poor and no interaction between students and seniors take place.
