Placements and Internships

2.5

  • Placements:

In our college,  if you're a CSE/IT student , there is a high chance that you will be placed. (with an average package of 4 LPA)

But if you are an ECE/EEE student, things are somewhat bad for you. The number of core companies conducting placement drives in our college for electrical and Electronics are very less. Also, the package they offer is very less(2.75 LPA-equal or less than the companies offering BPO jobs ).

Most of the ECE/EEE students that are placed from the college are placed in the software field or placed via off-campus drives.

  • Internships:

It is mandatory in the 3rd and 4th year to do an industrial training/internship during summer vacations, of which you have to give a presentation in the college (which is just a formality). The college doesn't generally provide with these. You have to look for them yourselves.

The first time I did a summer training course of 6 weeks on Embedded Systems. The second time I secured an internship at Energetic Labs Pvt. Ltd. which was a startup based on the Internet of Things. The stipend really depends on the type of the company, your role, internship duration etc.

Entrance Exams and Admissions

  • There was an entrance exam called CET (common entrance test ) which wasn't specific to just our college but was common for all the B.tech colleges associated with the Indraprastha University. This entrance test was conducted by the university in the month of May. It consisted of an equal number of questions from each section - physics, chemistry , maths.
  • The CET was of moderate difficulty with half the questions being easy. It was way easier than other entrance examinations like JEE, BITS etc.
  • In a few days, the result was out and each candidate was provided with a rank and not a score.
  • We were asked to fill the college and stream choices. This process was called counseling. This is how it goes - the university doesn't decide which college is the best, we do. The university only gives the preference to the low ranks. For e.g. whichever college and the stream the no.1 rank holder has chosen, will be allotted to him/her . Then , no.2 ranked will be considered, and this goes on. So, if you have a very high rank, all the rank holders with the lower rank than yours, will get preferred with their choices and will be allotted their chosen college and stream.

Fees and Scholarships

1.5

  • The fees is the worst part- Rs. 94000 per year.
  • There are no scholarship options available.
  • Education loans, if required, can be availed easily from various banks
