Placements and Internships

5

  • St. Stephen’s College boasts of a dedicated placement cell managed by senior and experienced faculty which does its best to get companies like McKinsey, Google and various other MNCs. Jobs on offer can mainly be categorised as analytical or marketing. Overseas posting has observed packages which go up to a whopping Rs 35 Lakhs a year. In India the highest goes to around Rs 10-12 lakh a year. Average salaries range between Rs 4 to 5 lakh a year. However, few students opt for placements and a majority go for either higher studies.

College Infrastructure and Hostel Facilities

4.5

  • There are 3 hostels for girls and also boys. Rs. 6000 per month is the hostel fee.
  • Pgs outside are very expensive. Costs from Rs 13000 a month the minimum.
  • Food in college is healthy and hygenic. It costs Rs. 90 per meal.
  • Classrooms are neat n clean. Labs, libraries and dining halls are well maintained. We get wifi facility too in college.

Academics and Faculty

4.5

  • The quality of teaching is exceptional and the method of pedagogy encompasses interactive sessions and power point presentations. Regular projects are assigned to groups of students which underlines the importance of teamwork and sharpens a students leadership skills. The college is equipped with various facilities ,a few being the translarion centre, gymnasium, swimming pool, tennis, basketball and badminton courts and also a shooting range.
  • Overall the college provides the environment suitable for holistic development.

Fees and Scholarships

4.5

  • The fee for the bachelors courses is very low for the quality of education provided as the college is a part of Delhi University so there isn't a need for financing as such.
  • Scholarships and Financing are provided on the basis of merit.  For students, whose parents' annual income is less than 4 lakhs probably need it, since accommodation expenses in Delhi is pretty high.
  • I'm not sure how loans can be availed and from which banks.

Academics & Faculty : Classes start at 8 40 in the morning and end around 3pm .First year students have there assembly at 9 05 am which is often conducted by alumni batch and also weekly tutorials for each subjects for better understanding of subjects. Most of the faculty comprises of senior and well-experienced professors who are allotted the crucial subjects. Although the teachers are not out-of-the-world or anything to match the hype that St. Stephen’s has created, the students are satisfied and do not wish for more. “They are friendly and co-operative. They encourage innovative ideas” says a student. Regarding attendance students with above 85% attendance are awarded full five marks allocated to attendance and they start losing marks proportional to the lectures they miss. Once it falls below the university norm of 66% warnings are given and students are given a chance to cover up for attendance.
