Placements and Internships
- Many reputed companies visit the campus but the standard has lowered in the recent years and one or two have even blacklisted the college.
- Salary figures are good and average salary for all branches goes to about Rs 5.5-6 lakhs per annum.
- There is a alumini interaction cell which helps to connect to many of them.
College Infrastructure and Hostel Facilities
- Hostel fees ranges from Rs 25000-50000 per year. There are 6 hostels for boys and 5 for girls.
- Infrastructure is modern(mostly). Wifi speed is 200kb/s
- Infrastructure of Thapar university is of 250 acres. In 250 acres campus students can know about the environment. Environment of this university is too much good and their is cleanliness all over the university. There is greenry all over the university and students can live easily without any pollution. Food is above average. Meal cost ranges from Rs 30-60 per meal.
Academics and Faculty
- College lectures start by the 8 AM in the morning and continue till the 5 PM in evening. The worse thing is that the time remains same in the winters also. The faculty of Thapar University is a lot better than other colleges. The faculty helps the student in every aspect they can and teaches the full time in lecture class. Yes, a student can worry a little about their attendance in Thapar as it is compulsory to have 75% attendance at the end of the semester.
- The overall experience is good. You can feel the joy of living in an Engineering College and you can experience a good atmospheres overall.
Fees and Scholarships
- Course fee is approximately Rs 2,16000 per year.
- Scholarship options are on basis of board exam and JEE mains exam marks. That is approximately 10 students having 95+% are exempted from full year fees. Then 90 to 95% , 10 students are given scholarship of half of tution fees and next 10 from 85-90% are exempted from one fourth of tution fees.
- On an average about 30-40 students get scholarship from every year of BE.
