Placements and Internships

2

  • The remote location of the institute doesn't attract a lot of companies to the campus.
  • While the placement data for software branches is optimistic, core companies visiting the campus are very few in number.
  • More than 50% of the batch (core branches viz. Mech, Elect, Chem, Petro) remain unplaced.
  • A good thing about intership is that one has to undergo industrial training after 2nd & 3rd year which carries some grades.
  • University provides official request letters. Also, industrial visits are common.

College Infrastructure and Hostel Facilities

3

  • A well built but not that well maintained university building.
  • The transportation facilities are okay.
  • The campus is green & beautiful.
  • A big disadvantage is the unavailabilty of sufficient hostels.
  • Laboratories are sufficiently equipped.

Academics and Faculty

3.5

  • DBATU being a state university, employs a satisfactory number of permenant teachers; most of them hold doctorate.
  • The syllabus is well structured and delivered nicely.
  • The disadvantage (or should I say advantage!) is that one gets good grades quite easily.
  • And practical sessions are not upto the mark.

Fees and Scholarships

4.5

  • The academic fees is around Rs. 60,000 per year.
  • The hostel fees is Rs. 6,300 per year, food charges are extra extra.
  • (Very few people get to stay in the hostels - around 13 per batch).
  • GOM scholarships can be availed by the reserved category students.

Clubs and Associations

4

  • One can find more than enough clubs & associations in the institute.
  • Every department has numerous clubs.
  • The institute has NCC & NSS membership.
