I am presently enrolled in the second year and I am planning to do an internship next year. However, the college sends every student personally to get trained at various places. The placement cell has recently excelled a lot and core companies like Hyundai, Capgemini, Cognizant, Accenture, Collabera, Persistent etc have been recruiting my seniors in the last year. The salary package obviously depends but the average salary package lies between INR 2,00,000- INR 2,80,000. The alumni network, in one word, is poor.
There are 2 hostels- one for the girls and the other for the boys. As far as I have heard, the hostel condition is good and like every other hostel, the food quality is very bad. There are a lot of of PGs surrounding the college where average cost for 1 person is Rs. 1200 per month. The canteen food is quite good but the price is too damn high. However, one can also eat at the adjacent hotels around the college.
The class rooms are too good, fully equipped with AC. Labs are quite good but there is a shortage of lab equipments. The library can be rated 10 out of 10. There is no dining hall, although there is a common room for indoor games purpose. No Wi-Fi is present till date.
The routine is the only problem in PCMT. We recently have been given Monday and Sunday as holidays, instead of Saturday and Sunday. I am from the Electronics and Communication Engineering department and I can surely say that the faculty pesent here gives their level best to increase our academic performance. The management has been too strict now a days, and eventually, a student either becomes too good or becomes too bad. There is no in-between.
The course fee is really a big problem for lower-middle class students like me. However, SBI EDUCATION LOANS are readily available. There are one or two scholarships but I do not know anything about that and I dont think anyone has ever got any scholarships.
Ther are various clubs and asociations, one for the dance, one for the football, one for cricket and many others. There are three annual fests- the cultural one, the sports one and the technical one. My college life is, in one word, tending-to-awesome.
