Academics and Faculty
- The regular class timings are 8:40am till 1:15 pm wherein each lecture takes an hour. The college that I am pursuing my B.A(honours) degree from, St.Stephen's College, is a semi autonomous college that is affiliated to the University of Delhi and is one of the most prestigious colleges of India. The degree programme follows a semester system. I am in the final semester, presently. Every semester consists of projects and assignments. The theory paper constitutes of 75 marks and the internals constitute of 25 marks, wherein the internals comprises of projects/test of 10 marks and assignments of 15 marks, depending upon however way the Professors wish to segregate the division of marks.
- The quality of teaching is extremely serious and intellectual. They just mean academic business. The teaching methods are very fine. The methods basically comprise of professors explaining the various history topics and students making notes of the dictation. The teachers are very approachable and questions are welcomed, as many as one wishes to ask.
- The overall experience in college is sort of academically monotonous. It's really enriching in all ways since the aura is so competitive in a healthy manner and people are very humble, around.
Fees and Scholarships
- My course fee per semester comes around to Rs 15,000, maximum. So, per year its around Rs 30,000.
- There are scholarship options for students, available on the Delhi University website in general and in my college too. Mainly scholarships are available for students who live on campus and for first year students.
- The average number of students who get scholarships are around 5, per scholarship. For students, whose parents' annual income is less than 4 lakhs probably need it, since accommodation expenses in Delhi is pretty high.
- I'm not sure how loans can be availed and from which banks.
