For the candidates appearing for the post of TNUSRB Sub-Inspector, they must check the following eligibility criteria:

Educational Qualification

Applicants must have completed their Bachelorette degree from a UGC Government recognised University/Institution in 10+2+3/4/5 pattern or 10+3+2/10+3+3 pattern in diploma courses.
Candidates who have completed their Bachelorette degree from open universities/distance education/college after completion of SSLC & ITI in 10+3+2 pattern are also eligible.
Applicants holding a degree from an open university in the 10+2+3 pattern are not eligible.
Candidates must have studied Tamil in their Class 10 or 12.

TNUSRB SI 2022 Exam Pattern

The board had releases the exam pattern for TNUSRB examination at the official website. The written exam is different for both the quota, whether it is open or departmental.

Open Quota Candidates

Part A- Part A comprises general knowledge of the candidates. The total number of questions present in this section is 80 of 40 marks.
Part B- Part B comprises a total of 60 questions of 30 marks.
The total time allotted for this section is 150 minutes.
Both parts A and B comprises only objective type questions.
In case the candidate answers correctly, he/she will get, ½ marks.
There will be no deduction of marks for incorrect answers.
The overall marks allotted for the examination is 70.
Candidates must score at least 25 marks to qualify for this examination.

Departmental Quota Candidates

Part A- This section comprises questions from general knowledge. There will be a total of 30 questions of 15 marks.
Part B- This section comprises 140 questions of 70 marks.
The total time allotted for this section is 3 hours.
Both parts A and B comprises only objective type questions.
In case the candidate answers correctly, he/she will get, ½ marks.
There will be no deduction of marks for incorrect answers.
The overall marks allotted for the examination is 85.
To qualify for the exam, candidates need to score a minimum of 30 marks to be eligible for the examination.

TNUSRB SI 2022 Exam Centres

The board assigns the examination centre to the candidates after issuing the admit card to the open & departmental candidates. However, the boards have the right to increase the number of examination centres and can also relocate the examination centre of the candidates.

The exam authority will release the merit list at the official website. Merit List contains the names of the candidates who cleared the examination and secured the cut off marks. Candidates can refer to the merit list for their result as well.
