TNPSC Group 1 2025 Prelims Answer Key Soon ! The prelims exam was held on June 15, 2025. You can expect the answer key to be out in the last week of June/first week of July 2025. Following this, the result and category wise cutoff marks will be released in August 2025. You are advised to keep checking the details to not miss out on nay of the events. TNPSC Group 1 2025 Vacancy

The vacancy has been announced for 70 seats only. TNPSC Group 1 2025 Application Process

TNPSC Group 1 application process commenced on Apr 1, 2025. You could complete the application process before Apr 30, 2025. The admit card will be issued only to those who have registered and paid the application form fee. The first step involves your One-Time Registration (OTR), and the second step is to fill out the application form.

How to Register for TNPSC Group 1 2025 Exam?

The detailed step-by-step process to register for the TNPSC Group 1 exam is below.

  • Step 1: You have to go to the official website of the TNPSC.
  • Step 2: Complete the One Time Registration [OTR].
  • Step 3: There is a one-time fee of INR 150 for Time Registration (OTR). Once you have made registration on OTR, it is valid for the next 5 years. You shall not be required to pay the fee again.
  • Step 4: Before making a one-time registration, you must scan images of your valid Photograph, Signature, and Certificate to be uploaded.
  • Step 5: The ones who have done their OTR can use their login ID and password to log into their TNPSC account to create their dashboard. You cannot create more than one Registration ID in the OTR.
  • Step 6: Please note that OTR is not an application for any post. It is merely a way to collect necessary information from applicants and provide the dashboard.

How to Apply for the TNPSC Group 1 Exam 2025?

To apply for different TNPSC Group 1 2025 Exam posts, you can follow the steps below.

  • Step 1: Click on “Apply” on the respective recruitment notification on the TNPSC website using the Username and Password created at the time of OTR.
  • Step 2: Fill in all the personal and educational details in the application form with absolute care, as once the application form is submitted, no changes or modifications can be made.
  • Step 3: Upload the relevant documents according to the guidelines specified.
  • Step 4: Once the submission is done, the candidate can save or print their application in PDF format. By logging into their account, you can download their application and print it if and when necessary.
  • Step 5: The application fee is INR 100 for prelims exam, and INR 200 for the mains paper.
  • Step 6: The payment can be done using a Debit Card/Credit Card/Net banking. You can also make the payment offline via HDFC Bank or State Bank of India within 2 days from the online application submission date by choosing the option in the online application.

TNPSC Group 1 2025 Eligibility Criteria

You must check the eligibility criteria before registering and appearing for the TNPSC Group 1 exam 2025. The Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission sets the eligibility criteria in terms of academic qualifications, age limit, physical qualification, local language knowledge etc. The criteria for the TNPSC Group 1 exam differ category-wise. TNPSC Group 1 Academic Qualification

  • The minimum academic qualification for TNPSC Group 1 is graduation in any stream, i.e. you must hold a bachelor’s degree from any recognised university.
  • You should have acquired the minimum qualification in the order of the studies as X + XII/HSC + UG Degree or its equivalent + UG Degree from any recognised University/Institution.
  • It is necessary to have sufficient knowledge of the Tamil Language.
  • Who have appeared for their final examination are also allowed to appear under the condition that you must obtain evidence of passing the degree exam at the time of uploading the documents for the Group 1 TNPSC Mains Exam. Failing to do so, you will not be allowed.
  • The ones who have cleared their final examination of MBBS or any Medical Examination but have not finished their internship are granted to appear for the TNPSC Group 1 2025 Preliminary Examination.
  • The ones applying for the position of Deputy Superintendent of Police [Cat. I] and District Officers (Fire and Rescue Services) must have certain physical qualifications that can be checked on the official notification.

TNPSC Group 1 Age Limit

The details of the age limit are as follows:

  • TNPSC Group 1 has a lower age limit of 21 years and an Upper age limit of 32 years. Although the upper age limit for TNPSC Group 1 Eligibility may vary from category to category. The following depicts the upper age relaxation for different categories according to the posts.
  • An ex-Serviceman who belongs to any of these categories, i.e. ST, SC/SC[A], BCM, BC, MBC/DC, and DW, are given an upper age limit concession of up to 53 years. The Ex-Serviceman in the “Others” category has up to 48 years of upper age limit.
  • If an ex-serviceman has already been enrolled in any class service or category, they will not be able to receive any of the above-age concessions.
  • Persons with disabilities have up to 10 years over and above the given maximum age stated below.

TNPSC Group 1 Recruitment 2025 Salary

TNPSC Group 1 provides generous payment for all the posts. They also offer amazing benefits and allowances along with a great initial salary. The initial salary for posts in TNPSC Group 1 2025 is around INR 56100. According to the TNPSC revised, the pay level is 22, and the salary range is from INR 56100 to INR 177500.

TNPSC Group 1 salary includes base salary and other allowances. Some of the posts offer Medical Allowance, City Compensation Allowance, HRA, and other allowances. These benefits and allowances may vary from post to post.

TNPSC Group 1 Exam 2025 comprises three steps: Preliminary Exam, Mains Exam, and Direct Interview.

The Prelims Exam exists purely for an initial evaluation. The marks in this examination do not count towards the final selection. The General Studies section will have questions in both English and Tamil.

  • TNPSC Group 1 2025 Prelims exam is objective type. It has only one paper consisting of two sections: the General Studies Section and the Aptitude and Mental Ability Test Section.
  • The General Studies section in the TNPSC Group 1 Prelims Exam is of Degree Standard. It comprises 150 questions in total. The Aptitude and Mental Ability section are of SSLC Standard, which comprises 50 questions.
  • There are 200 questions in the TNPSC Group 1 2025 Preliminary exam.
  • The minimum qualifying marks for candidates from ST, SC/SC [A], MBC/DC, BC [OBC], and BCM are 90. For candidates who belong to the “other” category, it is 120.

  • After qualifying for the TNPSC Group 1 Prelims Exam, the selected candidates can appear for the TNPSC Group 1 Mains Exam.
