What is SSC GD Constable?

About SSC GD Constable Exam: The SSC GD Constable is a national level recruitment exam, conducted by the Staff Selection Commission of India. The Staff Selection Commission releases the notification to hire aspiring candidates into repost of constable (general duty) and riflemen (general duty) to fill the vacant positions with quality candidates. The SSC GD Constable exam is conducted to fill the posts of constables based on the vacancies in the following forces.

  • BSF - Border Security Force
  • CRPF - Central Reserve Police Force
  • SSB - Sashastra Seema Bal
  • SSF - Secretariat Security Force
  • CISF - Central Industrial Security Force
  • ITBP - Indo Tibetian Border Police

SSC GD Constable 2021 Exam Date

Application Dates: The application form for SSC GD constable exam for the recruitment of male and female candidates in Delhi Police had started on Mar 25, 2021 and the last date to apply was on May 10, 2021. Candidates can pay the application fee through online and offline challan method.

SSC GD Constable 2021 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates aspiring for the SSC GD Constable exam must have a clear idea about the eligibility criteria before registering for the exam. There are certain criteria in terms of educational qualifications and age limit, set by the Staff Selection Commission. The eligibility criteria of the SSD GD Constable exam are as follows.

Nationality

  • Candidate must be a citizen of India.

Educational Qualification

  • Candidates who have passed 12th or equivalent from a recognized board are eligible to apply for the SSD GD Constable examination.
  • Candidates who are appearing for the 10th examination are not eligible.

Age limit

  • The age of the candidate should be between 18 and 23 years during the application process, this can change when the official notification is released.
  • However, for reserved categories, there is an upper limit age relaxation as given below.

SSC GD Constable Selection Process

SSC GD Constable selection process comprises Computer-Based Examination (CBE), Physical Standard Test (PST), Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and medical examination. The whole process is conducted in order to fill the vacancies. Every year the staff selection commission of India releases an official notification containing the details of all the vacancies available and the eligibility criteria for each of those roles.

SSC GD Constable 2021 Application Form

SSC GD is expected to release the SSC GD 2021 application form on Mar 25, 2021. Candidates must ensure that they meet all the eligibility criteria before filling up the application form. The tentative dates for filling the application form is Mar 25, 2021 to May 10, 2021.

How to apply for SSC GD 2021 Exam?

Candidates can follow the step by step process to apply for the SSC GD 2021 exam.

  • Candidates need to first visit the official website of the Service Selection Commission - ssc.nic.in
  • The first step is the One-Time registration. Candidates need to click on the "Register Now" link in the homepage of the website.
  • Candidates must enter all their personal and educational details such as candidate's name, date of birth, parent's name, nationality, mobile number, email ID, category, permanent and communication address, class 10 details, roll number, name of education board and year of passing.
  • Once submitted, the registration ID and password will be sent to the candidate's email ID and mobile number.
  • Candidates need to upload the latest passport size photograph and scanned copy of the signature. Check all the information entered by the candidate. They can modify/edit if any correction required in the application form.
  • Once all the details are reviewed, candidates can pay the application fee through online or SBI challan after completing the registration process. 
  • Download and take a printout of the completed SSC GD Constable 2021 application form for further reference.

SSC GD Constable 2021 Exam Pattern

Candidates applying for the SSC GD Constable 2021 must have a good idea about the pattern of the exam paper in terms of the number of questions, marking scheme and the duration of the exam. The SSC GD Constable exam pattern is divided into four stages.

CBE - Computer-Based Examination

The first stage of the selection process is the Computer Based Examination. There will be 4 sections and each section carries 25 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ). Overall, there are 100 questions in the CBE.

Marking Scheme and duration: +1 mark is awarded for each correct answer and there is no negative marking for incorrect answer. The total time duration of the paper is 90 minutes.

PET - Physical Efficiency Test

PST - Physical Standard Test

  • On the basis of height, weight, and chest the physical standard of the candidate is determined.

DME - Detailed Medical Examination

  • Candidates who have cleared the Physical Efficiency Test / Physical Standard Test have to undergo a detailed medical examination.
  • Here the candidates will be medically examined and their physical and medical fitness will be determined.

SSC GD Constable 2021 Admit Card

Once the application process is over, the candidates will receive the admit card which needs to be downloaded online. The Staff Selection Commission will release the admit card on their official website. Admit cards are issued for all the three stages of the examination and the admit card for the SSC GD written exam is expected to be released in the first week of November.

Candidates should bring the admit card along with a valid ID proof to the exam centre. No candidate will be allowed if they do not bring the required document on the exam day.
