Nationality
- The candidates who are Indian citizens are eligible to apply for this exam.
- Applicants from Nepal, and Bhutan are eligible to apply for the exam.
- The Tibetan refugees who have come to India before 1st January 1962 can apply for the exam.
- Those who migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, and East African countries like Uganda, Kenya, the united republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, and Vietnam but are still an Indian origin can apply for the exam.
- A certificate of eligibility given by the Indian Government should be produced by the candidates belonging to the b,c,d and e categories.
Age Limit
The candidates applying for the exam must be 2 to 32 years to be eligible for the exam. The upper age limit relaxation varies for applicants belonging to various reserved categories which are mentioned in the below table:
