Indian Coast Guard 2020 Eligibility

Before registering for the Indian Coast Guard exam, candidates must make sure that they qualify the eligibility criteria set by the conducting authority. The criteria in terms of age limit, educational qualification and other factors are listed below. 

Age Limit 

The Indian Coast Guard Recruitment board has set a bar on recruitment. To be eligible, the age of the aspiring candidates should not be less than 18 years and not more than 22 years. Additionally, there are upper age relaxations based on specific category i.e. 5 years for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC candidates.

Educational Qualification

Candidates are considered eligible only if they fulfil the following educational qualifications

  • For Navik, all candidates must have a minimum of 50% aggregate marks in 10+2 including Physics and Maths subject from a recognized institution.
  • For Yantrik, all candidates must hold a valid diploma in Electrical or Mechanical or Electronics & Telecommunication (Radio or Power) Engineering with at least 60% from AICTE (All India Council of Technical Education).
  • For Assistant Commandant, all candidates must hold a Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University with 55% aggregate marks along with Maths & Physics in 10+2. 
  • A relaxation of 5% will be also offered for candidates achieving outstanding achievements in sports.

Nationality

The candidate must be an Indian in order to apply for the post of Navik, Assistant Commandant, and Yantrik at the Indian Coast Guard. The candidate applying for this exam must have a valid proof of Nationality.

Number of Attempts: The Indian Coast Guard has not set any specific restrictions on the number of exams that a candidate can take.

Experience: There is no experience set by the recruitment board for the Indian coast guard 2020 exam. Candidates with the qualifying age and educational qualification can take up the exam.
