Established in 1965, the Indian Institute of Mass Communication, Delhi, was set up with the objective of imparting essential knowledge and training in the various fields of Mass Communication. Since then, the institute has grown with a total of 7 regional campuses spread across the country with the last two campuses opening in Jammu (J&K) and Kottayam (Kerala) in 2012.

IIMC 2021 Entrance Exam Dates
IIMC generally releases a notification in the third week of April, regarding the opening of the application form on their portal. IIMC 2021 Entrance Exam Eligibility Criteria
The IIMC 2021 Entrance Exam Eligibility Criteria is structured by the IIMC, Delhi. Candidates must make sure to fulfill all the eligibility criteria for IIMC 2021 Entrance Exam before proceeding to the IIMC 2021 Application form. Applicants must go through the IIMC 2021 Entrance Exam Eligibility Criteria listed below for appearing in the entrance exam.
- An Indian national with a bachelor's degree awarded by a recognized university are eligible to apply for a PGDM course at IIMC.
- A student who has appeared or will be appearing for their final degree examination may are also eligible to apply.
- If selected, their admission will be subjected to their producing at least a provisional certificate in original from their college or university latest by a month into the academic year.
- Age limit:
- For general category: Candidate must be born in August 1995 or later.
- For SC/ST/Physically Challenged candidates, the date of birth should be August 1990 or later.
- For OBC, candidates must be born on or later than August 1992.
- NRI Quota:
Five additional seats will be reserved for the NRI candidates/NRI-sponsored candidates. The eligibility criteria and age limits for NRI quota candidates is the same as other candidates with respect to their individual categories. However the NRI candidates need not appear for the entrance test, they may advance directly to the next stage which is the group discussion and personal interview by depositing an entry fee of $50.

The selection into the PGDM course at IIMC will be based on the merit scored by the candidate in the entrance test procedure. The procedure consists of 3 different parts. - Part I: Entrance Examination (Written Exam)
The first step of the selection process is the written examination that will evaluate the candidate's general aptitude and basic course-related knowledge. The test will be for 75 marks and will be evaluated on the basis of the following parameters.

- Part III: Personal Interview (PI)
The same candidates will also go through the personal interview. This will be the last round of the testing procedure. The candidates who will be successful in clearing this round will make it to the final merit list for the next academic batch.
NOTE: The weightage for the final merit list will be based on the 75/25 weightage, implying that of the total calculation 75% will be accounted for the written examination and 25% will account for the interview/group discussion.

The IIMC 2021 application form will be available on the official website tentatively from Apr 30, 2021. Candidates need to register themselves with their respective valid email id and contact number. All other required details like educational and personal details should be uploaded by the applicant within the form. The aspirants will be required to log on to www.iimc.nic.in and click on the IIMC 2021 Entrance Exam Application Form. The application form will ask for all details regarding the identity of the applicant and their postal details. The candidates are free to apply for multiple courses.
The final result will be declared tentatively two weeks before the commencement of the course and the date of commencement of the new academic session will be announced on the official website.

IIMC 2021 Counselling Process
The allocation of the Centre (applicable to English Journalism) will be on the basis of Merit-cum-Preference. Candidates are advised to rank all the centres (IIMC Regional Campuses) in the order of their preference. In the event of a candidate leaving the choice of center blank, IIMC will allocate the centre to the candidate on the basis of an alphabetical roster.
Successful candidates are given seven days' time to secure their admission by depositing the prescribed fees online along with necessary documents. Candidates claiming reservation under the Economically Weaker Section scheme should produce the Income & Asset Certificate issued in the prescribed format by a revenue officer not less than a rank of a Tahsildar or a designated Magisterial Officer.
Depending upon the number of admissions secured, further rounds of results (2or 3) would be announced. If any seats remain vacant in any of the center (s) the same shall be offered to any of the interested candidates who have qualified in the written examination as per category wise merit.

Is the IIMC entrance exam conducted online or offline?
The IIMC entrance exam is conducted in the offline mode, i.e. as a Pen and Paper-based test (PBT). The candidates have to appear for the 2-hours long written exam at exam centres they will be alotted.
