Yogi Vemana University is a newly established university in the Kadapa district with its West Campus at Idupulapaya. Earlier, it was a part of Sri Venkateswara University. Yogi Vemana University namely YVU came into existence on March 9, 2006. The university is situated 15 km away from the city of Kadapa. The university is committed to fostering and sustaining healthy educational standards that provide students with social, intellectual and ethical growth.

Admission to the proposed course requires minimum marks in 10+2 or equivalent. Admission to various UG courses requires minimum marks in the qualifying examination.Details regarding admission criteria and eligibility are as follows.

B.Tech	A candidate must have passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as compulsory subjects and secured minimum 55% aggregate
B.Sc	A candidate must have passed 10+2 or equivalent from a recognized Board and secured a minimum of 55% aggregate marks (5% relaxation for reserved category)
B.COM	A candidate must have passed 10+2 or equivalent from a recognized Board and secured a minimum of 55% aggregate marks (5% relaxation for reserved category)
BFA	A candidate must have passed 10+2 or equivalent from a recognized Board and secured a minimum of 45% marks in aggregate
B.P.Ed.	A candidate must have passed 10+2 or equivalent from a recognized University/Board
