Fees & Scholarships : Course fee depends on two options in West Bengal University of Animal and Fishery Sciences. Day scholars and Hostellers. Since students opting for this course are mainly from the villages or distant areas hostel facility is available. I, being a local boy used to be a day scholar. For us the semester fee was 5k and for hostellers it was 8k ( which included hostel fees, mess fees etc ). Scholarships are available based to grades which student score. The top 8 receives scholarships from the college itself. Other scholarships from different organisations are available for SC and OBC's. Loans are not needed. Being a government college fees are meagre compared to other private colleges and hence no financial restrains. 

Entrance Exams & Admissions :  The eligibility criteria for West Bengal University of Animal and Fishery Sciences required was HS marks and at least a 75% in Bio and an overall 70% in boards. Only one seat was reserved for other boards ( WB board and other boards ).  Seats were reserved for SC and Physically challenged. Luckily I got the admission. Counselling had 2 rounds in case some student shall leave after getting admitted. Third counselling could also happen.

Placements & Internships : To be honest there isn't any campusing as such in West Bengal University of Animal and Fishery Sciences.  Salary figures may start from 15k onwards with promotions in years to come. Students may also opt for Agricultural Banks or other Feed companies as private jobs. Nonetheless completing masters would open a wide range of scope from Asst Professors to professors to NET examinations. Further one could go for Doctorate and then opt for Research (ARS).

Academics & Faculty : Classes usually start from 10.30am to 5 pm. Classes are divided into theory and practical classes. One theory followed by practical. Recess is also present. Seminars are quite popular and students should have a basic knowledge of operating a computer and MS Office. laptops are a necessity in West Bengal University of Animal and Fishery Sciences. Teaching quality is excellent. Notes are available from teachers. Seminars are also available. Libraries are available. you can go and read in library. The college is like a family. Students in each classes ranges from 30 to 40. Compared to other private colleges this is very small. Seminar halls have AC. Teachers or professors are well equipped with Laptops and generally teach with the help of seminars. Overall the college is very good and if you are interested in Biology and at the same time not interested in Medical. Opt for this.

College Infrastructure & Hostel Facilities : Three hostels are present in West Bengal University of Animal and Fishery Sciences. One for bachelor degree studends ( UG ) . One for PG students and one Girls. PG hostels are also the same as UG hostel. Messes are availabe nearby. just half an hour from college. hostel fees are as I mentioned earlier. Mess is available inside College. No canteen. All meal fees are included in hostel. If you want to be a day scholar and you want to have Lunch in mess an extra fee is needed which you can know after getting acquinted with the mess secretary. Quality of classrooms, are well furnished. AC seminar halls. WIFI is not available for students. Its only available for Professors. Hostel WIFI can be taken after talking with other year mates.

Clubs & Associations : College union is present in West Bengal University of Animal and Fishery Sciences. Active. The GS is also helpful. Presence of cultural societies which arrange freshers and other short functions. Main festivals celebrated are Independence day, Saraswati Puja, teachers day. Grounds are available. As such no sports are arranged in curriculum. But college students play football, cricket after classes. Life is quite smooth here. All the aminities are located nearby. From Malls to cinema halls to CCD restaurants to banks. Everythings nearby. Hospital is also nearby. Auditorium is present where generally all the functions take place.
