Even though Value Education’s market-oriented approach to education and placement rate is notable, it still needs to improve its infrastructure and other facilities to provide a holistic academic life.

GetMyUni's Verdict on Value Education

Value Education is a 2008 UGC-approved college aimed at providing education oriented towards meeting business or industry challenges. It is also ranked among the top colleges in Ahmedabad. One of the vital aspects that sets the tone of VE is that they are very practical-oriented. Hence, a more significant part of the course curriculum is intensely focused on learning from practical experience or examples. Such an approach makes the students industry-ready and helps find potential recruitments.

Although it has been significant years since Value Education (VE) was established, it still provides a limited number of courses. However, the management has slowly improvised and improved in these courses by constantly reviewing and updating the course curriculum.

Table of Contents

Industry Oriented Education

As mentioned earlier, Value Education's courses are pivoted to meet the industry's challenges. The first and foremost is bridging the gap between what the industry expects from a recent graduate and what the graduate technically or theoretically knows. This is the case for many colleges and universities. A significant lack of practical knowledge can be observed in the initial stages of one's career.

To overcome this, VE emphasises practical learning over theoretical learning. However, that should not be confused by altogether eliminating theoretical knowledge. The college does immensely focus on theory classes as well. The courses are regularly checked and reviewed to keep them up to date. Thus making it an effective syllabus for the students. The college provides only two postgraduate courses. These are namely MBA and PGP. The number of students is also limited.

The admission is based on the marks obtained in the last qualifying examination and is relatively hassle-free. The semester examinations are not too difficult. The papers are set on a moderate difficulty. Hence, students have to study considerably to pass the examination and score well.

Expensive Course Fees

Students have to considerably churn out their money when it comes to paying fees at Value Education. Students have to spend anything between INR 1,25,000 and INR 2,50,000 to complete their courses.

No significant scholarships are granted to ease the burden of the students. Hence, students have to either take a loan or make a down payment at their convenience. This also might restrict a lot of students coming from financially marginalised backgrounds to take admission.

Good Natured Faculties

The faculty members at Value Education (VE) are knowledgeable about their subjects and willing to help the students with their academic doubts. The professors blend traditional and modern approaches to make the class lectures interesting. Students feel comfortable approaching faculty members with doubts.

Decent Infrastructure

Value Education College presents itself with a decent set of infrastructures for its students. Since it is a management-oriented college offering only two courses, only a little technological lab-based equipment or instruments are required. The classrooms are spacious, and students sit comfortably. The college library holds a good amount of books on different genres. It also stocks periodicals, magazines, newspapers, etc.

Apart from this, the college also includes an auditorium and conference hall. It also has a cafeteria which serves a variety of food. The sports facilities that are available are few in number. However, students are encouraged to participate to stay physically fit. The campus has a decent security system, keeping everyone safe and sound. Additionally, first-aid medical facilities are also available.

Students studying at VIMED can find various paying guest options for staying in the city. The PGs come at multiple price points and are well-furnished. Students can choose them according to their interests and convenience. There are many paying guests strategically located near the college as well, which will reduce the commute time of the students.

Good Placement Record

VIMED has been able to keep its placement record notable since its inception. Many top companies visit the campus for recruitment purposes. The placement rate is near 100%, which is praiseworthy. Since the focus is on practical learning, upskilling sessions are conducted to make the students industry-ready and increase their chances of employment. Furthermore, the college has a history of producing entrepreneurs.

Monotonous Campus Life

Campus life at Value Education (VE) can be monotonous many times. Only a few cultural or sports events are celebrated throughout the year. The college is mainly focused on the academic aspect. Moreover, not much diversity can be seen in the student population. Students, mainly from the state of Gujarat, are admitted. Since the course fees are high, students from marginalised backgrounds need help paying such high costs.

The college is flexible on rules and regulations. Although, students are expected to maintain a 75% attendance record. The students have to abide by no prescribed dress code or uniform system. Hence, students enjoy a lot of leniency in such situations.

Is Value Education (VE) Worth it?

Value Education offers a decent quality of education with good faculties. Although the course curriculum is mainly industry-oriented, new modern approaches could have also been inculcated in the syllabus. Moreover, newer modern infrastructure could also be established to cater to the broader needs of the students. What is most commendable about the VE is its placement record.

It has a nearly 100% placement record with top recruiters visiting the campus. Because of its market-oriented approach to studies, many students take to entrepreneurship. Although, such efforts do not justify the exorbitant course fees. If one's goal is solely to get a decent education in management, then Value Education serves a purpose. But if one is looking forward to a wholesome and holistic education, they might have to consider VE.
