College Information

Tagore College of Education was founded by generous and noble hearted philanthropists of the Southern Educational and Rural Development Society in the year2005-2006 with a strong intention of promoting rich education in the tender minds of the eastern direction on the Cuddalore main road.

Tagore College of Education founded at Deviyakurichi has grown as a mini Shanthiniketan. The Philanthropists of this institution will endeavour to spread the spitit of Tagores rich ideals through the tender ones brought under their guidance.

Noble souls interested in the welfare of modern India are solicited to put words of encouragements to our humble task. Let us dedicate ourselves for this cause.

The College is affiliated to Tamilnadu Teachers Education University – Chennai – 5 from the year 2008-2009 onwards. Tagore College of Education has got the provisional approval from NCTE Bangalore and NOC from the Tamilnadu State Government.

National Assessment and Accreditation Council

The National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) is an organization that assesses and accredits institutions of higher education in India. It is an autonomous body funded by University Grants Commission of Government of India headquartered in Bengaluru.

At present in India, accreditation is voluntary for Higher Education Institutions.Out of 612 Universities in the country, only 172 of them have been accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). Out of the Universities accredited, 67 have been placed in Grade A, 99 Universities in Grade B and only 6 in Grade C, based on scores awarded during the process of accreditation. A bill - National Accreditation Regulatory Authority for Higher Educational Institutions Bill, 2010 has been introduced in Parliament of India to make it mandatory for every higher educational institution in the country (other than institutions engaged in agricultural education) to be accredited by an independent accreditation agency.

  • To promote higher education among rural women and rural youth.

  • To develop self esteem and self confidence.

  • To have ability to make their own decisions and negotiate.

  • To provide skills for income generation.
