Library

S.V.K.P. & Dr K S Raju Library is a central facility which provides information support for teaching and research activities of the College. The library was established in the year 1974.  The Library holds a rich collection of Books, Monographs, Reference works, Serials, Maps, & Dissertations and Back volumes of periodicals. and journals The Library subscribes to around  periodicals, & popular magazines.  The library has a special collection of “Collected works of Mahatma Gandhi” 100 Volumes Published by Min. of Information & Broadcasting, New Delhi.

This Library has automated its entire house keeping operations.

  • The Library has started its automation activity by procuring a PC-AT Compaq P4 with 512 RAM, 80mb Hard disk, windows operating system.

  • Initially some data were developed in MS Access. . The database was created for Accession number, call number, title, author, and publishers’ name, place of publication, vendor, invoice number, year publication, and number of pages, size of the book, edition, language, price and remarks. All these data were converted SOUL data base an Retrospective conversion

All the in-house library operations are computerized using SOUL Software, designed and Developed by INFLIBNET Centre, an autonomous body of UGC. Library Using Barcode Technology at the Circulation desk for the check-in and check-out transactions.

Hostel

"Every great creation will start with one seed"  That is true in our hostel history.

The hostel was started in the year 1991 with  different courses in temporary building. The Permanent Building of Ground Floor of the Women's Hostel was constructed in the year 2001 under the assistance of University Grants Commission under special scheme with 40 rooms. Now this hostel has great infrastructure with 300 members of eight different courses with fully established facilities.

Features of the Hostel :

  • Separate hostel facilities for  girls. 

  • Only three members for each room. 

  • Each person is provided with one bed and chair.

  • Chess, Caroms, Cricket kits are provided for entertainment.

  • Television is available for entertainment.

  • Hostel warden undertakes study hours.

  • Separate rooms are provided for study hours. 

  • Hostlers can use Computer Laboratory & Library from 8 A.M. to 7P.M. in every day and From 8 A.M. to 1 P.M. in Holidays along with Internet. 

  • Generator facility is available

  • Phone facility for incoming and outgoing calls.

Mr. S. Subbanna Reddy represented India in Basket Ball at Junior Asian Basket Ball Championship at Manila in Philippines in 1989

Hosted Events

  • Our college hosted A U Basket ball Selection trails in December 1997

  • Our college hosted A U Inter collegiate cum University selection trails in Tennis in Jan 1995 &Nov 2003 • Our college hosted A U Inter Zonal

  • Inter collegiate Tournament on 4 & 5 Feb 2004

  • Our college hosted A U women’s Inter collegiate Tournament on 27 to 30 January2005

Canteen

The College Canteen is a large spacious area, with a view of greenery all around, and a variety of refreshments and meals available. It tends to be the most popular place on campus, not only for physical refreshment but also for student bonding, discussions and even work on assignments and projects.

Co-operative Stores

 

OWNED BY STUDENTS, TO SERVE STUDENTS

  • A unique entity among college stores, The Co-op Store is a non-profit organization falling under the umbrella of the Student Cooperative Association.

  • The co-operative stores under the direct supervision of the Department of Commerce provides Stationery and Toiletries to the students at a reasonable price.

  • 'Courteous Service' is the motto of the stores.
