Academics & Faculty : The class starts at 08.45 and ends at 5.45 PM.  In the second semester, we had mini-project daily for about 2 hours. There was usually three CIAs internal assessment.  Teaching was exceptional with the best teachers. The Faculty members were highly qualified and had immense knowledge about the subject. Classes were interactive and there was always a scope of learning beyond the syllabus.  

Entrance Exams & Admissions : Admission was based on merit. It was based on the marks secured in the under graduation. The seats were alloted through counselling. 

Placements & Internships : Companies like Dr.Reddys and Biocon hire students through campus interviews. The highest salary is 5 LPA. SASTRA has very good alumni network.

Fees & Scholarships : The fee for master's in science is around fifteen thousand per year. Loans are not needed. Various scholarships are available to students based on certain criteria. 

College Infrastructure & Hostel Facilities : There are separate hostels for girls and boys.  The students are expected to pay the room rent for a year while joining and pay the mess bill every month. The are many PGs for both boys girls and available around the campus and in Thanjavur and Vallam which are the nearby places.  The food in college is really good but has only vegetarian food. The campus and the hostels have highspeed Wi-Fi. The libraries are well equipped and are the house for all kinds of books required. 

Clubs & Associations : There are various clubs and associations on campus. There are three main events, technical event, sports meet and cultural event. The life in campus is great except for the climate and distance that it takes to walk around the huge campus.
