INFRASTRUCTURE & TRANSPORTATION

There are 9 hostels totally, 5 for boys in B-Tech, 2 hostels for M-Tech and Phd students, 1 girls hostel (all departments) and 1 guest house

The college is located in the city and finding houses nearby is easy and affordable.

The hostel mess food is not that good but that is the case for almost every college.

The quality of hostel rooms classrooms libraries are excellent andd many of the buildings are newly constructed

There are different hostels for different year . 1 hostel only for 1st year students different hostel for 2nd year and different for 3rd and 4th . And one hostel for girls hostel and the fees are INR 42000 per year. But they take attendance and if you were absent they will give you refund. Outside of college, everything you want is available and Food and views are near. Food is great in college and it's cheap compared to outside college and food quality is excellent. Classrooms are cleaned everyday and Labs too Library is amazing and silent as you want . Infrastructure is excellent .

INFRASTRUCTURE & TRANSPORTATION

SVNIT has ten hostels with nine for boys and one for girls named after personalities of India. Each hostel is administrated by the Chief Hostel Warden. Each hostel elects representatives from the hostel residents for areas like Entertainment, Computer Facility, Network, Environment and Cultural. Two mega hostels for boys and one mega hostel for girls with large number of facilities have been constructed. Each hostel has its own mess, TV room, Sports room and computer facility. Coming to hostel fees, it costs about INR 33500 rupees for one year and mess fees are about INR 15000 for a semester.

  • There are 7 boys hostels and 1 girls hostel .the boys hostel are given by the year in which you are studying . The hostel fee is Rs. 32300 .to know more about hostels you can visit www.svnit.ac.in . The PGs is also good but it is costly near the college .its better to prefer hostel then PG.
  • The food is good in hostels, it costs Rs. 2400 per month in SVNIT.
  • The infrastructure of collage is very nice .in past 2-3 years its changed very well good classes big library.and wifi speed of collage is also awsome hispeed internet.

Infrastructure Facilities at Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute of Technology, [SVNIT] Surat 

Campus:

  • The port city of Surat is one of the most important areas of the state of Gujarat. A major industrial hub and a city with a high standard of living, Surat is one of the major cities of the country.
  • The City of Surat is located in the southern part of Gujarat at 21o 15' N latitude and 72o 52' E longitude on the southern bank of River Tapi.
  • The city forms a major urban core in the Ahmedabad-Bombay regional corridor, centrally placed between both the settlements, at a distance of 260 km.
  • North of Bombay and 224 kms. South of Ahmedabad.
  • The industries in Surat are traditionally dominated by small scale manufacturing units including diamond cutting, textiles, gold thread, dyeing and printing which were largely home-based and cater to the domestic market.
  • Diamond cutting and polishing, however, are for export market.
  • The medium and large-scale industries are mostly located at the five industrial estates in and around the city.

Library:

  • The Library subscribes to 156 current journals.
  • The Library has a rich collection of books on science and technology including chemistry, mathematics, physics, chemical engineering, civil engineering, mechanical and production engineering, computer science, electrical and electronics engineering, biochemical and biomedical engineering.
  • Besides, Library also has a good collection in the areas of humanities and social sciences.
  • Besides General Collection, the Library has segregated specialized collection having separate collection codes.The Library also accommodates a literary section having a good collection of novels, philosophy and history related books.

Bank & ATM:

  • The institute has one bank and two ATM rooms situated in the campus, State Bank of India and ATM of Canara Bank.
  • State Bank of India is regular branch in the campus and is housed in front of the main gate of SVNIT.

Canteen:

  • The campus has one canteen located behind the Central Library building.
  • It's used by hostelites as well as the occasional visitor.
  • The Canteen is open from 7.00 A.M. to 7.00 P.M. on all working days including Saturdays.
  • A wide variety of South Indian items, and chinese food as well as some fast food varieties are available.
  • During lunch time Meals (Gujarati Thali) are available at very nominal rates.

Healthcare:

  • The Health Centre is a full-fledged OPD unit managed by one full-time Residential Doctor, Six Hon.
  • Visiting Medical Consultants namely Physician, Gynaecologist, Paediatrician, Radiologist, Ayurveda & Homeopathy Specialist assisted by two pharmacists & supporting staff.
