Course Fee Structure

The students who belong to SC/ST and those who belong to families with an annual income below INR 1 lakh are exempted from tuition fees.

According to the latest fee structure, the tuition fee per semester for the B.Tech program is INR 20,834 for students who belong to families with incomes between INR 1 to 5 lakhs and INR 62,500 for students whose families have annual incomes above INR 5 lakhs. 

The annual fees for the postgraduate programs offered by the institute, such as MBA, M.Tech, M.Plan and M.Sc, are INR 2,00,000, INR 1,40,000, INR 1,40,000 and INR 30,000, respectively. The annual tuition fee is different for each specialisation. The course fees for PhD courses start from INR 45,000 per year.

Apart from the tuition fee, students must pay other fees for each semester, such as library and book bank, development fees, examination fees, laboratory and project fees, etc. To ensure all deserving students have a chance at receiving a quality education, the institute also offers several scholarships on a merit and need basis.

Attendance Policy

According to the institute's rules and regulations, students must maintain a minimum attendance of 75% per subject in all theory and practical classes. Failing to meet the minimum attendance requirement will result in debarring from appearing in the end-semester examinations.

Students are generally impressed by the institute's infrastructure, which includes almost all the necessary facilities and amenities to enhance the learning environment for the students.

The classrooms at the institute are spacious and well-equipped with audio-visual aids, such as projectors, whiteboards, etc., which enable an interactive learning environment. The classrooms have advanced technology catering to the students' and professors' various academic needs. Each department has designated laboratories equipped with modern and updated technology and amenities requisite for practical learning.

Apart from the traditional laboratories for the Engineering branches, the institute has separate programming, software, designing and language laboratories for each department.

Located in the centre of the institute, the central library is centrally air-conditioned with comfortable seating areas. The library houses an extensive collection of books, journals, periodicals and other resources that assist research and learning. It also has an extensive collection of digital resources, which include e-books, video cassette tapes, etc., which can be accessed through the computer systems available within the library. Students also have access to an extensive collection of online databases. 

The institute has multiple facilities for various sports, such as basketball, football, cricket, tennis, volleyball, etc. It also has several facilities for indoor sports, such as chess, table tennis, etc. The institute has a dedicated physical education and sports department that ensures all students maintain their physical health and academics. It also has a well-equipped gymnasium. 

With multiple stalls, the central canteen at the institute serves good quality and hygienic food with a vast seating capacity. Centrally located, it is one of the primary hangout spots for its students. The canteen has several types of food and beverages available at affordable prices. The institute has made infrastructural improvements in the canteen, which ensures its maintenance and cleanliness.

In addition to the facilities mentioned above, the special mentions of the infrastructural facilities include the Materials Research Centre, Incubation Centre, Computer Centre, Lecture Hall, Medical Center, etc.

In short, the institute has a world-class infrastructure that consists of all the necessary facilities to ensure students have a holistic learning experience. Though there have been minor issues regarding the maintenance of the older buildings, the institute regularly renovates and develops the infrastructure.

Comfortable Hostels

The institute has separate hostels for boys and girls on campus, with different types of rooms available for diverse budgets. The newer hostels have modern facilities, such as air-conditioned rooms, attached bathrooms, etc. There are 11 hostels for boys and 3 for girls, which can accommodate 3333 and 1058 students, respectively. The hostel rooms are well-furnished, with separate beds, study tables, chairs and wardrobes for each individual. 

The hostel rooms are allotted on a first-come-first-serve basis and are based on various factors like program and availability. As the hostels are close to the academic facilities, students can access the library at all times and reach their classes hassle-free. Additionally, all hostels have television, and some hostels have badminton courts and indoor games facilities. 

Although students are generally happy with the hostel facilities, they have mentioned that the older buildings have limited facilities compared to the new ones. Nevertheless, the hostel rooms are comfortable and convenient for students. 

Security guards and CCTV cameras at all locations ensure the safety and security of the students living in the hostel. The hostels also have strict rules and regulations regarding the curfew timings, guest visitors, etc., which is assuring. However, some students may find it difficult to adjust to the strict rules imposed by the hostel authorities.

Timely meals are served through hygienic mess facilities in all hostels. Though the student council is in charge of the food menu and quality, students have mentioned that the food quality is not up to the mark. However, the general hygiene and food quality are adequate for most students.

The hostel fees at the institute are relatively low compared to the other private institutions, which makes on-campus accommodation affordable to students from diverse backgrounds. According to the latest fee structure, the hostel fees, including mess charges, refundable caution deposit, and light and water charges, are INR 47,000 for odd semesters and INR 32,000 for even semesters.

As the on-campus accommodation is limited, students can opt for private accommodation through PGs and hostels available within the institute's premises. The monthly rents for these PGs range from INR 4000 to INR 15,000, based on the room type, occupancy and the available facilities.
