Krishna University has indeed grabbed the eyes of Andhra Pradesh with its wholesome campus environment and equally finessed academics. Yet its placement scenario is much of a concern for the students.

GetMyUni's Verdict on Krishna University

Krishna University has successfully provided excellent quality education in traditional and industry-oriented courses. In addition to this, it has one of the most supportive faculties. But above all, it offers a wholesome campus experience. Established in 2008, Krishna University has come a long way and gained recognition throughout the country, even getting ranked in the top 80 universities.

While such achievements are appreciable, the focus slowly draws towards students expressing two contradictory views on various online forums. One student group boasted about several benefits they received while they were studying at Krishna University. The other group have vehemently opposed such views. Few of the alumni have even suggested choosing other universities.

Nonetheless, the percentage of students expressing such strong, unsatisfactory opinions is far less than the ones who have expressed positive views. Of several exemplary aspects of Krishna University, the two vital parameters of course fees being inexpensive and reputed companies visiting for placement stand out the most in choosing the university.

Table of Contents

Fine Academics

The prominent feature of Krishna University's courses is that they make the students industry or job-ready. The curricula are carefully designed to align with the present industry standards. Furthermore, it follows the guidelines set by the NAAC, UGC, and other organisations responsible for looking after the structuring and maintaining the standards of education in the country.

The university ensures that the current topics and subjects are incorporated into the syllabi and are taught as well. Students can pursue undergraduate, postgraduate research, certificate, and diploma courses. These are offered in a range of fields, such as Law, Management, Mathematics, Science, Arts, and many more. Among the wide variety of courses, the popular ones are B. Pharmacy, B.Tech, M.Sc, MBA, and M.Com.

Admission at KRU is strictly based on the marks obtained in the entrance exam. Only a limited number of seats are available per course; hence, the competition to secure admission is high. The administration at Krishna University is prompt and conducts the semester examinations in a timely manner. Since KRU is a university, many colleges are affiliated with it as well.

Inexpensive Course Fees

Krishna University, being a government university, offers its courses at a very affordable cost. On top of this, some scholarships are granted on merit, economic and social basis, which the students can apply for and avail. The fee for pursuing a BA is INR 3,540 yearly, while for BBA and BCA, it is INR 8,860 per annum. The total cost of studying for MBA is INR 20,000, and for M.Sc is INR 38,500.

Friendly and Scholarly Faculties

Ask any student at Krishna University, and they will unanimously agree that the professors are supportive towards their students. They make an effort to teach the students methodically and explain each complex problem step by step. They are readily available and helpful in resolving any individual doubts of the students, no matter how many times the students enquire.

The faculty members, from time to time, engage with various teaching methods to keep the lectures interesting and encourage class participation. They also possess high qualifications, making them have a deeper understanding of the subjects they are teaching.

Decent Infrastructure

Krishna University probably needs to shift its focus more towards its infrastructural capabilities. The management has built and installed many advanced technologies, but many are yet to be either updated or installed. The campus has good internet connectivity, which is available in a wide area. The classrooms are spacious with good seating arrangements. Each department has its own laboratory as per the requirements.

There is a sufficient amount of lab equipment available for the students. The central library hosts an impressive number of books, journals, periodicals, etc. These are available online and offline at the student's ease.

The university has a fair sports facilities comprising various sports facilities. Additionally, KRU has a medical centre, gymnasium, canteen, auditorium, and many more such facilities. Students are primarily satisfied with the infrastructure and appreciate it being well-maintained.

Pleasant Hostel Facilities

Krishna University has a plush hostel facility available to both boys and girls. The rooms in the hostel are available on a sharing basis. Each room is furnished with a table, chair, cot, mattress, etc., for the students' ease. There is a mess facility available in the hostel, which is run by a private organisation. The quality is good, and a variety of food options are available to the students.

The hostel premises are lined with security systems, thereby making it safe and secure for the students. Some strict rules and regulations must be followed by the students while in the hostel. Students can also rent paying guest options available in the city. There are various options for PGs, and students can choose as per their budget and convenience.

Top Recruiters Yet Low Compensation

Each year, a good number of reputed companies visit the campus for recruitment. Although the placement percentage is not significant. Only about 70% of the students get placed. This is because there is inconsistency in the recruitment process with respect to each department. For many departments, no placement is conducted.

Moreover, not much support is provided in terms of training and honing the skills to crack the interview, group discussions, etc. This severely affects the student's performance to the best of their capabilities in the placements. Moreover, the salary packages offered by these companies are below the industry average.

Such issues should be immediately addressed by the administrators to ensure a good placement performance. One of the primary aims of the students while they are on the verge of completing their courses is to get placed at a good company. Such aims should definitely be taken care of.

Wholesome Campus Life

Krishna University's campus life is one to remember. With various cultural and sports events celebrated throughout the year, students are kept excited and engaged. They forge bonds both with their peers and teachers that last throughout their lives.

There are a few strict rules and regulations that the students must follow to maintain the college environment. This also includes the 75% attendance criteria. Although, there are no specific dress codes or uniforms for the students. The most awaited event of KRU is its youth festival.

While the campus is beaming with enthusiastic students, not much diversity can be seen among the students. Since it is a state university, the majority of the students belong to Andhra Pradesh. Although students from various socioeconomic backgrounds are admitted, it makes the cultural exchange between the students more enjoyable.

Is Krishna University Worth it?

If one aims to nurture their academics and gain substantial knowledge about their chosen field, then Krishna University, with its supportive and expert faculties, will help them achieve their goal. However, if getting placed forms a significant attribute, then KRU would not be able to fulfil the desired outcome completely.

Even with a few drawbacks, Krishna University is able to tick off most of the parameters that the students want from their colleges. Most importantly, it indeed provides a wholesome campus environment to expand their knowledge.
