Karnavati University, located in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, is a prestigious private institution which has excellent infrastructure. Although it does a great job at creating a positive learning environment, it struggles to create satisfactory job placements for graduates. It also has limited scholarship options for its students.

However, the university is striving to bring out not just the qualifications of their students but also professionals with human values who can make significant contributions to society. Many recently graduated high school students are interested in Karnavati University because of its well-established reputation and infrastructural spending, in spite of its concerning placement statistics.

Karnavati University offers diverse programs on different campuses for undergraduate and postgraduate students. The candidates can choose to do both undergraduate and postgraduate courses from the same university. As per the reports, the structure of the course curriculum was relevant to the industry standards, thus preparing the students for the practical world.

Scholarships

The university, despite its costly fee structure as a private university, supports students’ dreams by offering scholarship programs. The candidates are offered on the basis of merit scores in the KUAT exam. 

The top 20 students are provided with 100% scholarships and meet all the required criteria set by the university. There are two scholarships available for the students: KU Merit Scholarship for BBA LLB (Hons.) and for B.Sc  and BA. The disadvantage is that the university does not offer a lot of scholarships for other expensive programs like dentistry and design.

Friendly and Approachable Faculties

The university has a good reputation for having qualified professors. The faculties make sure to conduct webinars from time to time for the students to gain knowledge out of the scope of the syllabus. The professors also conduct industrial visits to show the actual work in the industries.

The teachers at Karnavati University are known to be friendly and approachable to their students. The teachers are highly skilled in their profession with credible degrees, and they ensure that each student gets the best out of Karnavati University. The teachers provide the whole year calendar at the beginning of the session, which helps the students make the study plans for the whole year.

The grading system in the university differs, depending on the subject, external and internal examiners. The students of the university have rated the semester exams as moderate, and the pass percentage is comparatively low.

Spacious Campus

Karnavati University is reputed to have a gigantic campus with astonishing infrastructure. The 33-acre land of campus is beautifully decorated and maintained from time to time. The university has strived to provide the best facilities throughout the campus.

The classrooms are clean, well-maintained, and air-conditioned at Karnavati University, and the laboratories are well-furnished with all updated equipment. Except for the fact that some students have complained about the old and damaged furniture in the classrooms, the facilities in the classrooms and the laboratories are good.

There are three libraries all over the campus, with a multitude of books to refer to. The presence of libraries on campus is exceptionally crucial for students as the expenses for course books and reference books becomes comparatively low. Students have found the luxury of referring to the books available in the library when their course books are not up to the mark.

The institution has created a separate website for the students to search if a particular book is present in the library. Karnavati’s libraries have all kinds of resources to refer to, ranging from books and journals to thesis papers.

Canteen

The university has three canteens, which provide a wide range of dishes, starting from beverages to all kinds of Indian cuisines, and many more dishes. The canteens are unfortunately not air-conditioned, which some of the students are concerned about, as it is difficult to eat properly during the summer. The university has a mess, which, according to some students, ‘tastes like home-cooked food’, whereas others were unsatisfied with it compared to the canteens.

Hostel Facilities

Hostel rooms at Karnavati University are good, neat and clean. The students have two options for hostels: 

• Double occupancy rooms
• Triple occupancy rooms

The only drawback of double occupancy rooms is that there is no attached bathroom. The students living in double occupancy rooms need to share a common bathroom among 10-20 students.

The candidates can also find affordable PG accommodation near the university. To get the best rooms, the student needs to check the available PGs thoroughly. The university has provided a bus facility for the transportation of hostellers. In general, the students in the university feel that the hostels are good according to the expenses they charge.

The hostel authorities have ensured to maintain a secured environment for the students and have implemented all kinds of precautionary steps like setting up CCTVs, security guards, monitoring the check in and check out of the students and other people.

The wide campus has constant connectivity to the university’s Wi-Fi. The university provides good high-speed internet connectivity in all places inside the campus, ranging from classrooms, cafeterias, and hostels.

Sports and Fun Activities

The university ensured the students’ well-being during their college years by including extracurricular activities, both indoor and outdoor activities. The sports-related activities have been made an important activity at Karnavati University.

Research

As the university is one of the best private universities in Gujarat, the laboratories are good and well-maintained by the lab assistants. The university has spent thousands to establish working equipment for all science-related fields. Some of these equipments include:

Standard Program Cost Structure

Karnavati University's cost structure varies for each programme. Although the institution is not famous for its placements, it has maintained itself to provide good education and facilities which match students' expectations and tuition fees. 

Lively Campus Life

The campus life at Karnavati University is very lively. The university organises events and fests every month. Karnavati University has strived to make the university campus feel like home to the students who come to this university in search of a good education. 

All kinds of festivals, like Ganesh Chaturthi, Navratri, Janmashtami, Onam, Lohri, Pongal, Durgotsav, and many other festivals are celebrated at the university, which makes students from different cultural backgrounds feel at home. In addition, the institutions organise tons of events and fests now and then.

The diversity maintained in the university has fostered by creating a rich learning environment, celebrating all kinds of ethnicities, and exposing students to varied perspectives and experiences.

The students are also able to get indulged in extracurricular activities as well. Students participate in a variety of committees, including a student council, a moot court committee, and many other clubs. The university has also not set any strict rules regarding the dress code. The students of Karnavati University are expected to dress in a casual yet formal manner.

Unsatisfactory Placements

Despite making huge investments in its infrastructure, the university had fallen short in providing satisfactory placement opportunities for its students. This unsatisfactory college placements suggests that there are fewer possibilities for the graduates. This concern have been raised by several students online on search portals.

The placement cell of the university is not as great as it has been showcased. The students have complained about low packages being offered by the companies. On average, 70-85% of the students were getting placed, where the average salary offered is INR 2 - 6 LPA.

Most of the time,  according to the senior students in the university, the students are mostly able to get internships here and there based on their efforts. The placement cell in Karnavati University is mostly off campus. Design students particularly have to rely on their portfolio to get recruited, as they feel there is no scope of getting placed through college placements.

Karnavati University tries to balance out the negatives by bringing some good recruiting companies. The university needs to improve its placement procedures in order to better support its student's future goals and aspirations.
